No, the OP works for SkyNews and she is advocating for JNP to be PM material. My angle is that she is either gaslighting by being hyperbolic about this woman’s prominence and respect in the liberal party or she she lives on another planet because the libs would never vote a woman as their leader and an ingenious one at that ? Not until hell freezes over (due to cyclical weather patterns).
I think your view on them never voting for a women to be leader is probably incorrect, as it's previously been done at State level.

Based on the current composition of the Liberal Party in the Australian Parliament, who would be deserving of being leader ahead of the current person?

State politics has shown time and time again to be far more centred than the feds.

Deserving ? That's an odd qualifier. Who determines that ?

I know who they won't vote for. A woman to lead their federal liberal party. Same goes with the Nats.

State politics has different issues it deals with (Health, Education, etc.) so needs to be more to the centre.

The Australian people are the ones who determine who is deserving, not the twitterati.

There has never been a suitable female candidate to lead the Liberal Party federally.

And you can't say Julie Bishop, because just like other times 'moderates' have lead the Liberal Party (i.e. Andrew Peacock and Malcolm Turnbull) in the last 40 years, the vote of the Liberal Party has been reduced at the subsequent Federal election.

A 'moderate' has never lead the Liberal Party into Government federally in its history, and it never will, male or female. The facts need to be stated, the Liberal Party is a conservative party, and the mainstream media and those with views of the left need to get over this fact and move on.

Let's also remember, the only time a woman has lead the Labor Party, their vote was also significantly reduced at an election. Now I'll admit this is a very small sample size, and there was more to that than the individual though.

Why would any party have a woman lead it if it isn't the best candidate? Even the Greens have more than 50% females in their party federally and choose a bloke to lead it.

Well you've circled the wagons to justify this n that.

Facts are that the Labor caucus elected a female as leader (and hence as PM).

The LNP don't have quotas and will only elect on merit and I guess as we roll through the decades, it will be a lack of "deserving" candidates that prevents them electing a female leader. ;)

f**k me, electing people on merit. What a f**king crazy concept.
Well yes of course old chap. When one presents herself with appropriate merit, she'll will no doubt be considered ! Wof, wof, wof.

In all seriousness, long time before these dinosaurs are cleared out I'm afraid. They are still heavily involved in the party.

Once again why are we wasting money on this? to pat ourselves on the back...

"In some of his strongest language yet, Mr Albanese said while the fear campaigns being propped up by multimillion donations could be powerful, “you never change for the better through fear”.

“You change it through hope,” he told ABC Radio.

“That’s what this referendum is about.”

He said a No outcome could lead to “quite catastrophic” outcomes for Indigenous communities, and used the COVID-19 pandemic as an example.

“We know that when you consult Indigenous people, you get better outcomes,” he said."

Huh... Fear? Huh...

What a waste of time and money...

Fear = the standard News Corp and Sky News reporting model about anything.

Albo's right btw - any change for the better is ultimately fuelled by hope.
