He was always an Idiot.

It was more to do with Scomo losing the last election then Albo winning it.

He got lucky he just happen to be the opposition leader and only had to let Scomo just keeping make a fool of himself during the last term.

Australian politics has never been in a more dire state.
Albanese is looking more and more like KRudd II each day... Both ascended the highest office in the land to the great delight of the true believers... both seem fixated on championing trendy causes and prone to breaking down in public... On the plus side, I don't think Albo eats his own ear wax, so he has that going for him I guess...

It's a strange phenomenon, that also seems to have struck other progressives like Tony Blair, Barrack Obama, and arguably Julia Gillard as well once elected with high hope after long periods of conservative rule.

They seem to lose in power (at least in public perception) the very qualities that made them popular election prospects in the first place?

Early days here at least. Celebrations and the inevitable upswing post referendum to the opposition aside, the next federal election does not need to be held until sometime in 2025.

I do find it intriguing the commentary around the choice to hold the referendum. People who are using words like idiot, stupid etc are missing the point. Labor have a tradition of holding a democratic caucus and “doing the right thing”. Not all decisions are politically advantageous, concocted in the bunkers by strategists behind veils of smokes and mirrors. Decisions on climate change, workers rights, environmental matters and indigenous affairs are made based on conscious. Yes, break out the violins, but it’s historically correct.

Right now, the cost of living across the world is / has skyrocketed and anyone in charge at the moment is feeling the heat. It’s much easier to be in opposition in this climate than having the keys to the joint.

^^^^^ Albo won’t be in charge come February ? I’ll take a lottery ticket on that one.

Well the the electorate of Sydney voted yes. So how about you mind your own business.

See if Albo just brought a voice (during his reign )in without all the hand shaking and patting self on the back it would have been a non issue.

It would then be up to whoever gets in next election to keep the voice and if they remove them they can cop the backlash.

He needs to get on his eco friendly bicycle and peddle back to Marrickville before we are paying $8 for a coffee and $10 for a pie.
Nice guy but doesn't know how to run an economy it seems.

I can't believe a fruitloop in Clover Moore is still mayor of Sydney.

Who does she pay off or have dirt on to keep the gig as Lord Mayor of Sydney.
She's had the keys for 20 years. I vote for her as do most commercial owners in the city. She runs a a good office.

I am sure her detractors can find instances to denigrate her, but like her or not, she has the runs on the board.

The "fruitloop" thing must be what you hear on 2GB or read in the Telegraph.

She is a fruitloop i can see it with my own eyes.

I dont have read the Telegraph or listen to the dribblers on 2GB to come to that conclusion.

OK I'll bite. What part of Sydney City planning over the past 20 years makes her a fruitloop ?

They butchered the roads around Surry Hills with Bike lanes.

I am all for bike lines, however how they did it needed better planning and execution IMO

Copping the backlash is not the issue, losing the Voice would be a huge issue

I guess that's why he went referendum

Bike lanes have come and go. Some were good choice and others not.

I think Surry Hills is a fabulous place right now and if Bourke and Crown don't get through traffic like they used to, then that's great. It's more like Paddington now, no merkins using it as a rat run.

Constitutional recognition through the voice was what was asked for by our indigenous brothers and sisters.

That's why we went to a referendum.

Unfortunately we suck, and we told them to f**k off with their voicey thing.
