Exploited by who, the two realistic choices of government, one of which is currently in power and "exploiting" us? And should only be responsible for providing a fair playing field (it's not fair under Albo's COL crisis). Life is exploitation, no one gives a shit about you at the end of the day and a stranger who doesn't care about you or your family is not an exploiter, they just don't care. As Albo's cost of living, housing availability/affordability crisis rages and the poor spiral their way closer to our tent cities popping up in capital cities like in San Fran, we are splashing cash overseas like drunken sailors. At least it is rugby league related? Although I'm sure the good PNG players could have come over here and played for a new Australian team. Madness.

How can Albo justify this staggering overseas splurge?

It's yet another dumb article based upon a dumb premise, another dog whistle for morons who lap this kind of shit up.

It ignores Australia's foreign aid is falling, not rising, and it ignores the fact that the great majority of foreign aid is not about gifts, regardless of the smiling faces of the leaders who announce it, it's about creating returns both monetary and strategic.

And last but not least, it's not a case of either or, governments chose how much they spend, and where they spend it.
