Pot - kettle - black

as far as your opinion on anything remotely right of centre, your manic postings of anything critical of centre right politicians is evidence.

Enjoy your day.
Once again you have just typed random jumbled words which are totally out of context.

What have I been critical about and why am I wrong specifically ?

You don’t take any criticism well, which is your decision,

Appreciate your views on football, my societal views are centre right which are far removed from yours. Probably best if I stay away from your political blog postings. Cheers

If he loses to Dutton it would be the biggest boil over in australian politics
Right, so if Albo doesn't reverse the worldwide trend of the incumbent being binned, then we'll all be shocked ?

I see what you did there.

Criticise away, but be specific about what I said. Otherwise you are just being a silly old merkin.

LOL

He is a true dud, but no chance he can lose against a useless opposition led by Captain Unlikeable Dutton

If he loses to Dutton it would be the biggest boil over in australian politics
the biggest boil overs were
- Keating beating Hewson 1993
- Morrison beating Shorten 2019

Also Howard losing his seat in 2007 was something

I dont doubt there are economic/cost of living factors involved ..... but its not just that. You are just using it as a convenient excuse to gronksplain everything away

Besides, the slew of govts getting the arse all set the rules about the direction they took things in recent times. They are reapping what they sewed.

And thirdly, Peter f**king Dutton.

Did I hit close to home??? Sorry, didn't expect to single anyone out.....
No apology necessary. Too close to home? Not likely. Only one of us has exhibited full blown vaginal sand syndrome here and that was you when you insinuated a republican triumph would enable racists, bigots and paedophiles to flourish - the latter of which is so extremely distasteful and inflammatory I am surprised the post was allowed to stay up.

At the end of the day, I don't really give a shit about US politics and Trump is a lunatic. The reactions of those supporters of the losing ticket has been very entertaining - even your post despite the abhorrent paedophilia reference. As has been pointed out, being A) a woman and B) of colour, was not and never should have been the springboard to re-election they thought it was. Cosying up to vacuous Hollywood trendsetters and woke influencers and cackling like a moron on talk shows was a sign of their desperation. The Democrats needed a better tactic than trotting out "Yeah but what about them?!" any time they were asked about their failures of the last 4 years and what they had in store for the next 4...

There was no insinuation. As I said, I am not singling anyone out. Fact is there was a considerable amount of rascists, bigots and paedophiles who felt content to be who they are when Trump was in power last time. It is sure to return them from hiding this time around. If it doesn't hit close to home then why worry??

I don't think the Democrats ran a very good race overall. Particularly changing candidates when they did. They lost. My post still stands.

I am using it as a convenient excuse ? Just me ? Not any other person ?

Wait didn't he post an alternative candidate making your post wrong?
Bruh he tried to claim that the worm brain guy was a democrat. He may have worn a blue tie in the 2023 primaries, but as you read here, nobody bought his BS.

The Kennedy family, having a proud tradition of being Democrats, all distanced themselves from him. The older family members, well they gracefully decline to comment. His brother Joseph and sister Kathleen have actively spoken out against him.

While Kennedy has long identified as a Democrat and frequently invokes his late father, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy, and his uncle President John F. Kennedy on the campaign trail, he has built close relationships with far-right figures in recent years. He appeared on a channel run by the Sandy Hook conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and headlined a stop on the ReAwaken America Tour, the Christian nationalist road show put together by Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn.

Polls show far more Republicans than Democrats have a favorable opinion of Kennedy.

Hey @Gronk you might be onto to something with this Tik Tok, the last few days have been compulsive viewing with all the crazy lefty meltdowns.
TikTok just shows you what the CCP wants you to see, which is anything that makes Westerners hate each other. It is just YouTube “with Chinese characteristics”.

Your post would have merit if there was any likelihood that you would have acknowledged that an alternative democrat candidate to Harris was worthy. None of you would have as you are all rusted on right supporters. So your post is really just tossing some smug around.
Obama was a killer. There hasn’t been a worthy Democrat nominee since.

If the remaining 35% were genuinely supportive of Kamala, they would have voted.
Yes, but it's about the apparent/mistaken parallel being drawn between that and the compulsory voting system in Australia.

Gina R's trying on the same thing via media articles today, smacks of desperation.

I do wonder if Australia didn't have compulsory voting.

How much of the eligible voting population would go and vote.

I reckon it would hover around 80-85% maybe even lower perhaps depending on whose putting themselves up.
True, I think it would be lower than 80%... 65-70% perhaps?

Like in the US, those going for election have to really give the people a reason for wanting to come out and vote one way or the other... otherwise they'll simply go about their lives.
Like atm we have 2 clowns no one really likes and its been that way for a while.

And if it wasn't compulsory i reckon a fair chunk wouldn't be bothered going because of the quality of candidates.
Yep. The last time someone seemed to give people that real energy reason to come out and vote was perhaps way back with "Kevin '07"?

In 2020 81 million voted for Biden and 74 million for Trump.

In 2024 68 million voted for Harris and 72 million for Trump.

A lot of people just couldn’t be f**ked to vote for Harris, same with Trump, just less.

Harris failed to motivate full stop.

Trump looks like he lost supporters, but picked up others in different demographics.
votes are still being counted e.g. California has only counted 60% so has about another 7m votes left
looks like trump will be a bit up on 2020 (maybe 74m) while Harris will be well down on what Joe got
