Mate, I’m happy for @Gronk to keep his Toyota Paseo, I just have an issue when he tries to tell others that 90% must/will move to electric by 2030 because the ice is melting.
what percentage of the car fleet will be replaced by 2030? I am guessing that by then there will be more EVs as a percentage of the total no matter what you think @Gronk is telling people

Hang on mate. I just want to be able to make my own choice and I’m happy for them to make theirs. However what I don’t like is when they try and create bullshit to limit my choice.

I just like how we have to pay out our asses to lower our CO2 output but other countries are still increasing theirs.

Yeah, I really hated it when the multi-national company that bought out Cornwalls decided to stop production of Father Favourite sauce too.

That stuff was the best - but they created some capitalist bullshit to limit my choice of sauce!

I don't want to limit you choice but . . .

If your truck could fit a suitcase under it, between the diff and the road (a standard carry on one). It's too high. As such you are at a greater risk of roll over, as such if we catch you speeding more than 10KPH over the limit, the coppers should confiscate your truck and crush it at your expense to "protect you" (or stop you from speeding up behind people because you can't "feel" like you're going quick).

Also, all "Utes" Should have standard driving lighting (headlights) no higher than 800mm from the ground, like most prime movers do, instead of on the top of the bonnet like a car. This is done purely for ascetics. If lights are needed higher put them on the roof or roll cage.

EV's are not the future, Hydrogen cars are, be they ICE or HEV.

I think it's wrong to include a car in the costs. If I choose to buy a Model S Tesla this year instead of a Mercedes, I am still buying transport for my family which is around the same price.
Do you have an EV?

I'm thinking of doing some marketing towards installing EV chargers. I can pick up units wholesale and mark up $500+ before I do any work.If you need one tho I will do at cost price.

No, I don't see the point in buying into rapidly advancing technology. As soon as you buy a 2025 car you are getting late 2023 tech that has been tooled for mass production and shipped down under. You're turning the key on redundant technology.

I will buy one when the tech plateaus, has fast charging and long range.

I'm seeing them everywhere nowdays. Even in Penrith.
My problem is I only have street parking so if we go EV the value of my property is going to nose dive big time
