Good for you. I was making the point that it wasn't some quest for "detail" that decided my vote either way. Seems like you're now (belatedly) realising that such detail is never part of any Referendum - only took me three goes over the course of 18 months, but looks we finally got there!Firstly I'm only intolerant to Indians and Sri Lankans. I have my reasons for this.
I respect and admire Aboriginal peoples and their customs. I'm welcome any time at Wreck Bay down the coast and have been invited to share a large sea turtle with Aborigines in Cairns. I can assure you not many Aboriginals from Wrecky voted for it.
I'm not fearful of some mystical "erosion" of democracy from making an allowance for a future simple, non-binding advisory body to be consulted where relevant by government.Secondly, if you don't see the potential for some kind of erosion to the democratic process through those changes then you're blind.
Because the Constitution simply doesn't allow for such a body to be planned and created through laws by the Commonwealth - without the wording that was part of the Referendum question. I thought we were making progress re not needing "detail", but if you're too daft or stubborn to grasp the basic principle of the Constitution then we're on a hiding to nothing I'm afraid. What is stopping having Aboriginal people making submissions to parliament to make laws with respect to matters relating to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice, including its composition, functions, powers and procedures.” right now?
The answer is nothing.
Ah, the mythical found but never posted source for something you're now starting to claim... as an alternate to your (now proven irrelevant) quest for "detail" to inform your Referendum vote! You told me this idea was created at some tree in NT in 2017. I found (but sadly no longer can) on the UN website where these laws were requested by the UN in 2006.
Kep kicking those own goals every time you post on this matter JS, lol.
