What’s wrong with Jacinta?
Looking back, this is probably the point where it started to go wrong for the Libs - a terrible tactic that snug Jacinta Price was willingly balls deep in.... She should take as much blame as Dutton for the poor showing, and finish her days on the backbench before riding into the sunset (when her Senate seat falls due).

On January 25, four days after Trump’s inauguration, Dutton appointed Jacinta Nampijinpa Price the Coalition’s shadow minister for government efficiency, a role with an unmissable link to Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) razor gang. A week later, shadow attorney-general Michaelia Cash praised Trump as “a man of action”, promising Australians “they’ll get the exact same attitude under a Peter Dutton government”.

Jacinta Nampijinpa Price, Michaelia Cash and Dutton at the Mount Pleasant Bowling Club in Perth – one of the few sightings of Price during the opposition leader’s campaign.

She's a nutbag with her head up her own arse. Selfish individual, deluded toxic politician.

Price will start to be rated negative in focus groups following her MAGA hat stunt, her Trump slogan comments during the campaign, and her ungraciousness when interviewed last night - blaming the result on anyone but her own party's efforts. Once she starts to trend negative in focus groups, she'll find herself on the outer like Warren Mundine has.

Why, when it's well deserved? It has nothing to do with her sex/gender or her heritage... neither of those factors should be a reason for certain dumb merkins to not get called dumb merkins, like any other dumb merkin would be. #equalopportunity
I saw her interviewed on the ABC after Dutton conceded. She was unapologetically arrogant in her denials that her party‘s campaign was flawed in anyway other than some tinkering around the edges. After the lady from 7.30 Report gave up on her, the indigenous lady from morning news had a turn and Price dropped tye BS facade when talking about her fist nations people. Apart from a dog whistle comment about treating them like victims, it sure sounded like she wanted her mob to have a Voice.

Looking likely that Bandt will lose his seat in Melbourne as preferences come in
Here's hoping. He's been a terrible leader for the Greens lately in my opinion, and it was predictable they would lose those Brisbane MPs because they (well that Max hyphenated guy anyway) focussed to much on the stunts and grand statements, and not local representation.

They need a new direction and a new voice - and to confirm they are just a Senate interest group party (which they are good at and get a good vote share) and should stick to that.

I absolutely would. How would it be a bad thing?

Many borders are arbitrary, including the one separating Canada from the US.
If you’re going to promote Australia losing our status as a sovereign country and becoming part of America then there’s nothing left to say. If you don’t see it as a problem then you’re already lost. Time to get the thread back on track.

It's not anymore.
The Hills headed towards the red on the weekend in a big way.
I've lived here for 26 years.
Never before has there been any sign of a major swing away from this blue ribbon seat. Until yesterday.
Alex Hawke had an 8% swing against his party this weekend. That's unheard of up here.
The Libs are clearly not on top of their changing demographic in this area.
They'll get what they deserve eventually.
The seat of Mitchell is no longer a white enclave, and that is and has been good for the region. It's called diversity, and our community welcomes it. And voting accordingly.
A lot of the belting of the libs in this election can be attributed to Alex Hawke's work over the years

I do think there political posturing instead of working co-operatively with the government in the previous term may have limited their support

Ya Think!

Sorry as there is no sarcasm tag I wanted to make sure you know I am agreeing with this.

Indeed, in the PM's press conference, the comment that Liberal and Greens housing representatives will not been in the parlement this term was a highlight for me and echoed what I have been saying about MCM for the last couple of days.

You f**k around; you find out.

Albo said it, but in far nicer terms than I would.

Gina R is another dumb merkin - and proof that money (and knowing how to make gazillions of it) doesn't equal brains.

She's absolutely trying to lead the LNP down the wrong path here - heading further to the right is not the way the LNP picks up the votes it lost and is missing closer to the centre. The Libs will need those centre votes to ever present as a credible alternative government, not votes out to the right that it already has (through One Nation preference flow).

I am happy for the LNP to take her advice

Yep, full of stunts and cheap attempts at point scoring... usually in spite of what the Greens are supposedly trying to achieve or influence from a policy sense for the environment or other causes of the day.

Not a party of government, and not very effective representatives overall.

Good read:

Yes, great read. Big New Corp / Sky After Dark failures this time - they're not as influential as they previously thought they were.

Rupert will be dead soon anyway too...

Gina will now spend the next 3 years buying up the media

I think if they did things like this they would have more support. Instead they block things like the ETS and more funding for housing because it isn't perfect
