Chris Rea - gone at 74.
Most would only be aware of the great man from his ‘driving home for Xmas’ ditty, but had a hard earned career. Road to Hell in the late 80’s is definitely worth a listen
Man I am getting old.

Geeze that one is not good. I have a Chris Rea playlist that I regularly have blaring when I get involved with my hobby (painting) in my corner of the world. It will definately getting a big run today.

I wondered why he was all of a sudden popping up on my youtube feed list. I didn't know he was crook.

R.I.P Chris Rea you will be on that highway today.

And yes Shadow, we are all getting far can old. I can vouch for that.

He’s been in my life for ever - even my kids fell for him, first with his Xmas song, then through the natural current day ability to go through a streaming blitz and discover his other catalogue- for that the internet is awesome.
He’s not someone I would just think of or even be on one of my playlists, but he’s just a bloody solid performer.
My early morning post was off the back of a mate, messaging me the news at 300am. Bastard I thought as the phone buzzed, double bastard at his passing.
Thats the effect Rea had.

Rob Hirst, Midnight Oil drummer, bloody pancreatic cancer.
Terrible news.
One of the greats.
For those interested, there is an interview with him on ABC conversations podcast a few years back with Hirst which was a great insight to him both on and off the stage. His work in Ghostwriters was a personal fav of mine as well.
Damn

Ever hear Hester tell the story when he filled in for Hirst. Very funny.

RIP Chuck Neagron, one of the 3 lead singers from American 60s-70s pop band 3 Dog Night. They put out some neat top 40 hits back in the day like Joy to the World, Mama Told Me Not to Come and Old Fashioned Love Song.
