Of all of the things that you said the two that stand out are:

AFL is representative of 1950s Australia.

AFL is an embarrassment to the country.

I guarantee that a similarly biased NRL hater could make the same arguments about the NRL.
They definitely have some racial issues that league doesn't. But then that's almost entirely due to where the game is played rather than the game itself.

Not being exclusive doesn't make either of these statements wrong Gary.

Granted, but my original comment was 'take your blinkers off'. Suity introduced the concept of something being 'not true'.

It's his opinion, not a fact. I can only agree or disagree.

I respectfully disagree and believe that on the whole the AFL is better managed than the NRL.

I absolutely agree that the AFL does a better job of protecting and developing the interests of their game and their clubs (whatever one thinks of their methods). As well as the weird insular mindset that contributes to that (e.g. the mandatory questions to any international visitor as to whether they love our great game), I think it is partly due to the fact that they had to work out a way to fund themselves without poker machine revenues. From the 50's on NSWRL clubs got hooked on the gambling dollar, and because of the barriers to competition, didn't have to think too hard to survive.

Can you imagine if their administration ran league and Beardo et al ran the AFL ?

Baz makes a good point about League admin never having to work too hard to market our brand as the market was already there before they were appointed.
