He had that 'disastrous' press conference late last year but then came back strong during the State of the Union Address. So don't count him out.

I don't think it matters much anyway because the electoral 'elephant in the room' is abortion. Whenever it goes to the ballot box women always vote in favour of it, by a clear majority. They'll do likewise in the US general election in November.

It isn't a question of who is a better bloke. Trump looked unaffected by age and Biden looked more senile than ever before in a climate in which there were already concerns about his age. And he isn't getting any younger.

Like it or not, 4 years of Trump is upcoming and the Democrats only have themselves to blame.

Harris is not somebody the Democrats will be all that comfortable having under the spotlight. She isn't the candidate to win it from here. Also, would be a travesty for her to be the first female president.

If Trump gets in Murica will tear itself apart. If Biden wins he will be shuffled off sideways medically which is not in any way a concern relative to the Fascist dictator returning and eliminating their entire judicial and federal structures. The worst of it is Trump in charge of the Military a 2nd time around.

It is a simple choice, vote for democracy or fascism.

My Brother lives in Ohio. He and his wife have a matching pair of AR15s, Glocks, Shotguns and a whole lotta other guns.

The leader of their neighborhood watch has a 50 Cal.

They vote MAGA, they know Trumps a crook, but they are sold on this idea that Murica is headed for Civil war....and they are probably right. It won't happen if Trump wins, it will happen when Trump refuses to vacate after his term, so it would be useful if he would do the decent thing and have a massive heart attack.

Sex offenders are not really the choice of decent people to be honest. But each man/woman has their own morals to answer to in the mirror. Part of me when I am feeling bitter wishes America gets Trump, they deserve it if they put him in power.
The downside of that is that as a New Zealander I know for a fact my kids will be living in a dangerous world with a dictator in charge of the US. Trump has shown his inclination is towards Russia and North Korea and he is anti NATO.

That should worry anyone wanting to avoid WW3. The second world war happened because America turned away from its allies and sat on the side lines in keeping with satisfying the American populace.
Obviously that was stupid, as it created a vacuum for nationalists to invade European nations and the Pacific at will.

Imagine Trump in charge in the 40's he would be telling everyone what a great guys Hitler and the Emperor of Japan are.

If Biden wants any chance, he needs a more likeable running mate, as the chances of the VP becoming President seem pretty high.

And I have no sympathy for them, in a way. They would have known what everyone saw last night. They could have done something to present a new candidate and they banked on Americans being so anti-Trump that they’ll suspend their suspicious about Biden mental fitness. The problem is that they don’t just have to motivate people to not vote for Trump. They have to also motivate their base to vote for Biden. I would imagine the American left would be feeling pretty exasperated

I honestly don't understand American politics. 350 million people, and they whittle it down to a megalomaniac and a guy who looks like he would be on the high care list in a rest home. Honestly, I actually get the first part, because Trump has seized the MAGA crowd by playing up to everything that means something to them - guns, power, white supremacy and the ability to say and do whatever you want.

A win for Trump (which seems like it's happening) to me only further poisons this ever-increasing segregated, inflamed world we live in. I actually hate it, how intolerant we have become of opposing views and difference in society. Yes, social media created it, but Trump has made a sport of it.

The thing that also gets me, and I see this in my job as a teacher now, is how ready people are to lie, and if they're caught, it's the 'deny deny deny' approach. Biden says he's a six handicap golfer. I've seen videos, he's a 36. Trump had a whole book written about him on cheating at golf. These guys lie, they cover up, they're never accountable for the shit they make up. It's a very weird, perverse new era where nothing actually seems real and owning your actions is a thing of the past.
