This is a quote from Jason Stevens:It was the most powerful movie I have ever seen and I highly recomend it to all. I have already seen it twice

The most powerful movie I ever saw was Final Destination 2. That'll take some beating, and I don't think an apparently poorly-acted out scene of torture dotted with CGI animation of Satan is going to change that.

What's wrong with the Jews are they unhappy that someone else is making this story up?

I think Reefy is Rooster Cogburn. They live in the same strange world. This is a thread he didn't think was worthy to be on the sharks forum, yet he posts on it. Get a life.

The movie was very moving.
What the critics have looked for is a reason to bag it. At first they decided Gibson was a looney for even attempting a movie in Aramaic, with no Hollywood backing. Then they criticised him for not having sub-titles. Then when it became apparent that it was looking popular, they bagged him for being anti-semetic.

Then they realised it was popular and indeed a pretty darn good portrayal of Christ's suffering. So now they choose to bag it as a cinematic work. They criticise its aspects in relation to how well it used to genre, what they felt, how well it was written etc.

What they fail to see is that it is not about the money, the reviews, the critics, the script, the cinematography etc. It is about trying to make a movie that accurately shows the pain and intense suffering that Jesus went through in the act of dying. It is not Mel's story to tell, he is just blessed with the gifts, experience and money to make the movie that the world needed to see.

I'd encourage people to go and check it out - it ripped me in two pieces, and I'd be surprised if people did not feel even the slightest bit gutted by the end of it.

The buzz around this movie has just gotten too much for me

I couldnt care less for another Jesus movie, they've been before and they'll be done again

I saw it and while I agree its fairly moving - and I'm completely unreligious - I also agree that it was disgustingly anti-semitic.

I think the moving aspect for me wasn't so much that it was Jesus that was at the centre of the barbaric treatment, so much as this torture was - and is - actually doled out to people.

I don't think "disgustingly" actually goes before that word.
maybe try;

sufficiently
insufficiently
appropriately
interestingly
justifiably
brilliantly

etc etc.
