Gotta feel sorry for the chick behind the TAB counter. She must have the worst head in the world, if they have had to blur the back of her head like that....

If Ayoub somehow gets out of this - I think he will next be seen doing something like this scene to keep players.

Brad Murray gets another mention in the paper in relation to this betting issue - apparently the "4th punter" is one of his facebook friends...

It's strange the police, NRL and media had gone a bit quiet on Murray after originally identifying him as having had a bet? I'd hope that this is sorted one way or the other for the ex-Rooster before next weekend, otherwise it could be a bit disruptive to our wider squad.

Persons of interest . . . the four suspicious bets.

EXCLUSIVE

POLICE have identified all four men shown on CCTV footage placing bets on an NRL match at the centre of a suspicious betting plunge - and one of them has a direct link to player manager Sam Ayoub.
The Sun-Herald can reveal Anthony Serratore is the man who placed a bet on the Canterbury- North Queensland game at the Beaconsfield TAB on August 20. It is understood Serratore went to school, and remains friends with, Ayoub's son, Jai. Serratore is also friends with another person of interest to police, Parramatta player Brad Murray, who also wagered on the game. Murray is a client of Ayoub's, as is Ryan Tandy.
The Bulldogs forward was arrested last month for providing false and misleading information to the Crime Commission. Ayoub was charged during the week with attempting to defraud a betting agency.
Police released photos and footage of four men placing bets on the suspicious plunge on Friday and asked for assistance to identify the persons of interest. There is no suggestion that any had done anything illegal. As of yesterday all had been identified and initial contact had been made with them or their legal representatives. Police are hoping that all will make themselves available for interview this week. The Sun-Herald contacted Sam Ayoub last night, who refused to comment. Attempts were made to reach Serratore and Ayoub's solicitor, Danny Eid, but the messages were not returned.
A Facebook site entitled Brad Murray Fan Club contained a message from an Anthony Serratore, posted on February 7, 2009 at 9:38am: ''Brad Murray… YOUR MY HERO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (sic)''.
''From our perspective we're pleased with how the investigation is going,'' said Detective Superintendent Arthur Katsogiannis.
''There's no winners in this whole affair, but we've maintained that this is about truth and integrity in both law enforcement and the game itself.
''The most difficult part for investigators has been the wall of silence with many of the people we've approached. The help hasn't been forthcoming as we would expect, but again people are entitled to their right of silence. On our behalf that's very frustrating.''
There was a further development late last night when NSW Police travelled to Townsville to execute a raid on local businessman Joel Solinas although a police spokesperson would not confirm the specifics of which premises was searched.
The Herald handed over information in relation to allegations of match fixing in the 2008 World Cup. An overseas businessman highlighted irregularities in two games between Ireland and Lebanon, both of which ended in a draw.
Tandy played for Ireland while Jai Ayoub was part of the Lebanon squad. There is no suggestion that the new allegations relate to Tandy or Jai and Sam Ayoub.
The first match between the teams ended in an 18-all draw at Tolka Park, Dublin, in November 2006. The second, played in November 2007 in Dewsbury, England, finished 16-all after a Lebanon player conceded a penalty in front of his own goal posts for a high tackle and Ireland kicked a goal to level the scores three minutes before full-time. Katsogiannis, who has presided over the investigation but will step down to focus on the Gang Squad, said the internationals were not part of the current investigation due to ''jurisdictional issues''.

It doesn't look good for Brad. The only positive thing that has arose in the past few days is the bail conditions for Ayoub.
Ayoub's bail conditions include staying away from potential witnesses, including Schell. He has also been ordered to stay away from the Parramatta club and grounds.

Hopefully this means that Brad has co-operated with the authorities and that will be taken into account when he is dealt with from the police and the NRL.

The facebook link proves nothing IMO. The message on facebook was Feb 2009 and the Tandy penalty match was Aug 2010. All it proves is that they may have known each other through his manager.

The fact that he has not been charged as yet suggests that he wasn't part of the inner sanctum at least.

he is only small fry in this will the police bother with him after they have reeled in all the big fish? even if he is not charged by the police it doesnt mean the nrl won't throw the book at him

True, he surely was aware that players (like jockeys) are prohibited from betting on matches.

Jockeys get caught often betting on races. Recently these two got 12 and 15 months, but having said that they had a history of punting up to $300k over a 12 month period.

The real issue here is whether he had knowledge of the Tandy penalty stunt or not. The fact that he chose to bet on an obscure exotic certainly will work against him.

and if he didn't know why did he choose this game to bet on? For it to be a coincidence there would probably be a history of making similar bets. while it is may not be illegal it is certainly against the rules of his nrl contract.

So there is either a one off bet with inside knowledge or a history of betting and a long ban from the nrl.

Here's hoping. Now all Brad has to do to further distance himself is find some alternative accommodation...

And how good are Ayoub's bail conditions? The more player mangers we can keep away from Parramatta the better imo .
