The only way the Walker family would allow Sam Walker to go to the Tigpies is if they're the coach.
Did I see on twitter that Gus (I mean Ciraldo) is dropping Flanagan this week ? Who reckons that Gus has already been on the phone to Dad Ben Walker offering a shoulder to cry on ?

Yeah you're probably right. He's 18 though. When was the last time an 18yo half back hit the ground running in the NRL. Has it ever happened ? Mostly you get years of haphazard inconsistency.

I reckon we would of done more over the last 10yrs had Ricky been coach. He has done ok with a far weaker side in Canberra
He would have been axed in 2014 i reckon.

This disaster of 2013 meant he would have needed results quick smart in 2014 i don't think that was going to happen. Even with Paul Kent's defence.

Pretty similar results - BA has the advantage of more finals appearances and better H/A record. b

But Ricky has gone deeper with 2 more wins overall.

When both teams made the GF we had a better season in 2022 then Canberra did in 2019.

He's made four grand finals ffs, with the best finals record of all active NRL coaches. He's not perfect but he's a pretty good coach. I think his biggest problem is that he burns relationships.

By what metric does he have a better finals record than Bennett, Bellamy, Robinson or Cleary? Purely win:loss ratio in finals matches?

Helps the % when you dont make them often.

Look at the tigers they have best finals Win% in the comp. Because they have only made 3 finals and boosted by winning all 4 in 2005.

Ricky’s finals record as coach is actually decent. I’m just surprised to hear Pou giving that as a metric of coaching success, because on that measure, BA is an abject failure.

Stuart has coached 23 finals matches, with is almost a full NRL season of games. But the first ten were at the Chooks, where he won 80%. Since then he is five from 13, mostly at a club that often misses the finals, as you say. Do they miss the finals often because Stuart is coach, or because they lack the resources or the bigger clubs?
