Sadly we won't have Barrett to laugh at for long.

Also why that Kikau photo was stupid

Dogs game was one of worse games I have seen. Terrible.

Burton has a long way to go. Big kick but he has shit placement. Just kicks as far as he can. It's different finding space at centre in a side that is dominating other sides compared to playing closer to the middle. He will only improve but he needs a year or two atleast.

He's a running 6 being asked to play 7. The dogs will be much better next year and Burto will be fine, this will be good for him in the long run

Sides are also learning to slide and tackle him from the inside-out, which they have been able to do as he is playing off the back foot more (combo of a forward pack struggling to get forward and poor service from his fellow half and hooker). If you cut down his step you limit his effectiveness.

I think at this point in his career Burton is more Jamie Lyon style centre/fill in five eight than a true playmaker.

With an actual half back alongside him he could develop but I don't see that happening at the Dogs.

They will have a new coach. Lose several guys to pay for the recruits they have 2-3 seasons before they are a top 8 team

That is where their recruitment has been poor. Gone for flashy over practical

They must have paid a king's ransom for JAC and they're getting very little out of him, not entirely his fault but not entirely not either.

I dunno, a Dogs pack of Hetherington, Kikau, TPJ and Thompson isn't to be messed with. That is a seriously tough bunch. TPJ and Hetherington will tear a lot of teams apart. Then they have Vaughn on the bench. If they can keep them fit, that is more grunt than an HSV Commodore.

you can't have a pack of down hill skiers only.

Where is the forwards to do the hard work?

Luke Thompson does not impress me at all, he is just an average prop. Right now they dont look close to a top 8 side, almost certainly will finish in the bottom 4. Is Kikau and Mahoney going to be a big enough improvement to get them into the top 8 next year? Maybe, it will be interesting. I see them competing for another spoon this year unless something changes dramatically so just making the 8 at this point looks like a huge jump. Barrett still not settled on a halfback to partner Burton. Dufty is on a one one year deal and just isnt that good. Plently of question marks around them for 2023.

Not a knock on JAC but they should not have signed him, stupid signing for a rebuilding side. A winger isnt going to improve their attack and help create more chances, he will finish some better but when they are not creating many that will not add much. No idea what they paid for him but I am guessing its pretty big money for a winger.

In other bulldogs new Heathro has been ruled out for the season with that shoulder injury apparently, shame for the guy.

They will all be putting up their hand to tackle the 5th tackle run if there was some momentum created in the 4th..

I felt so sorry for him rupturing his ACL, here is a guy who doesn't seem to have the skillset that others do, but through his hard work and dedication won his team the match. His reward... season over.
So sad. I think he is off to the Dolphins also. At least if that is his last play for Parra he got to leave by winning the game on his last play through pure effort.
