Prob wrong thread sorry.
If we had no AD or Luai right now, would you take over any of these contracts if those clubs don't want their half?

Mitchell Moses (Parramatta Eels): Reportedly the highest paid for the 2025 season, earning around $1.3 million per season on a deal extending to 2029.
Kalyn Ponga (Newcastle Knights): Also listed at the top for 2025, earning approximately $1.4 million annually. Can play any backline position.
Nathan Cleary (Penrith Panthers): Another top earner, earning around $1.3 million per season.
Daly Cherry-Evans (Manly Sea Eagles): Signed a significant deal in 2015 averaging $1.25 million per season, making him the first player with such a high average annual value, tying him to the club until 2023.

I just can't see the value of these highest paid players in the game.

I couldn't find all of the highest paid halves but our Luia's deal doesn't seem that bad now, IF he can produce form that we know he's capable of

Thoughts?

I'd take Cleary in a heartbeat. Him and Luai reunited would be unstoppable.

I'd probably take Ponga based purely on his talent, but gees he can be a douche, and potentially destabilise the great culture work that has been done over the last year. I'd back our leaders to pull him into line. If it went pear shaped he'd be easy to offload to another club.

Everyone knows Moses is a petulant little bitch who loves blaming everyone else bar himself and when the going gets tough he goes missing. The biggest downhill skier in the NRL era. Plus, he crapped on us once, and would probably do it again. Plus it would mean having to deal with his manager, which should be avoided at all costs.

DCE is too short term for what we want and need. He's not team 1st. He's me 1st.

That's my 2 cents worth anyway.

I love it but we won't have the money for both especially after resigning players to long contracts.
Unless of course Attard is Fullback. luke Lauliiiiii renigs and stays and those other cheapies weve got are in the team ... so possible i guess.

If Melbourne could do it, so can we. You just need a bit of creative accounting, gift vouchers, boats, jet ski's and the like. And make sure you don't have any disgruntled staff who know where the bodies are buried.

In all seriousness, we'd never be allowed to recruit these guys. The NRL would find some way to block it, or not register any of our TPA's - if we had any 🤣🤣

Your stealing my posts and imitating my weird sense of humour.

Are we going to invade the ground when Alex breaks the record.
Maybe not as crazy as this one if we do.

This Jenkins winger for Penrith looks like anything else other than a footballer but gee he's good. So reliable and a great good finisher.

Now Jenkins scores another good try.
Not bad for a train and trial player.

When are the refs going to penalize players interfering with the ball when the opposition are trying to get the ball and play on. Its slowing the game down and its against the rulz the last time I read them, it's the same as kicking the ball away or throwing it away but they try to disguise it by fiddling around with the ball but it's so obvious they are interfering with the ball.

Haas is just being used as a decoy runner and D. Surely you'd want him to be used more for hitups. Decoy running can gas you just as much and in some cases when you run through the line it gases you more.
