Our 1/2 back problem - Matt Geyer

[Perth Red]

Should we try and entice Matt back to Perth? I think it would be a massive singing for us and, as long as his heart is in it, could be an answer to our lack of control in the middle. He is currently playing for some lower grade team in Q'land i think. Don't know if we could find the $'s to entice him to move to Perth for a couple of seasons but would be great to see him back in a Red shirt!

i must admit i havn't seen much of the red's this year but i dont think our halves are that bad, i'd sooner have a couple of proven front/second rower's b4 we forked out big $'s 4 a matt geyer type

i agree, matty was never a halfback and we need some big tough hard fowards. our halfs at the moment are good footballers, but they need a pack going foward in front of them.

When watch some of the backs we have played though they command a game, great kicking games, always have the ball on the 5th and know what to do with it, great short kicking and good long passing. We fail badly some times in these areas. Totally agree about the need for a couple of monsters in the pack but we need someone with an old head to guide us around the field and when we look like we are about to implode to lift everyone and get us out of trouble.
