is that it?

you reckon they should sack the coach...and all I've got is that I don't know every fuggen player by name in the comp.

like I said .. you're a goose.

I never said to sack the coach.

But he is under pressure to show that he is making a difference with our attack.

5 tries in 3 games I'm sure there will be a queue a mile long outside Shark Park next game.......

I wouldn't expect you to know every player in the comp but FFS he's a rep player! They're the ones you should notice.

I think you will be surprised. Also it is rnd 3 only, nothing stopping us from picking up another front rower.

I don't see anyone barr Douglas as an above average front rower in the club. He played 80 minutes on Sunday & if he has to do that week in week out his effectiveness over the course of the season will diminish IMO.
We may well pick up another prop.......but from where & will he be above average.
More of the same won't really achieve much I don't think, especially with the performances put foward so far. I hope Mason doesn't end up here cause the drums are beating down at the Sheaf loud & clear, they want him out.

Ricky Stuart's plan of attack

5 hit ups then Bomb

We have the worst wingers in the competition, I think someone shouted Can't Catch, Can't Run, Can't tackle at Covell on the weekend, he is a glorified NFL kicker, he has one job only and cannot do anything else.

Simmons is just there to catch bombs.

Barrett and Gallen are just ball runners, they are not playmakers, they can occasionally through a good short ball, but we have no width on attack, the only thing our centre caught was a cold

We did not even make a line break the whole game, we were lucky Young bombed a try, Creagh bombed a try and Boyd and Morris bombed a try, when Morris should have stepped in side.

St George was probably a 20 points better side. The bad thing is it will let Stewart keep the same team and same sh*t for next week

He is already playing too many minutes & waht you are saying has already happened. he does the numbers but doesnt make any difference.

I think the biggest thing which needs to change is the way our backrowers play. They should be barred from going within 15m of the sidelines at all time. Get them attacking on the fringe of the middle third and let the centres and wingers patrol the sidelines.

If you had line busting backrowers we'd be ok, but apart from Toops, we don't. Instead what's happening is they run wide, the defence slides across leaving the backs with no room to move, and never having an overlap.

That said if we aren't in the market for backs we have rocks for brains.

IMO Pommeroy is a backrower playing in the number 3 jersey. he is way too slow to be a centre and doesn't have the zip zip of other clubs centres. he doesn't time his runs when taking the ball, he seems to stutter before he gets the ball. i'd much rather he played in the backrow. our backline slowness starts with pomm.
mich brown's game was outstanding.

dougie not effective??

early in the second half saints were coming out of their half - he rattles off 4 consecutive tackles on del, weyman, blah, then blah - cant remember the next 2 players

its things like that that go without notice

he is not in the side to be racking up line breaks

He is not in the side to make line breaks,

The problem is our Centres/wingers/fullback are not there to make linebreaks, that is why apart from 2 barrett individual tries, we do not have any attack

Rattled is a gross overstatement. His tackles are not hurting.

When was the last time he hurt someboedy in tackle or hurt somebody trying to make a tackle on him?
It doesnt happen. & that is not effective.

injured or hurt?

im sure he hurts lots of players - i saw del almost shed a tear after his tackle yesterday, and weyman had a painful grimmace when he stood up

i dont think dougy is lacking in the hurting department.his defence is one of our highlights.

back to 'our attack'

watching the game yesterday i felt that our passing was pretty substandard.lots of passes were either slow, poorly directed or came with a huge sign saying where and when they were going.

the team looked like they hadn't been playing together at all.

it seemed to me that this is the basis of our attacking problems.
