Our game is getting too too soft!

What the hell has happened to our game? Now, players putting pressure on the 5th tackle kicker can get penalised making contact with the kicker a split second after he's kicked the ball. What happened to the old system where if a player cannot pull out, then play continues?

Also, how the f**k did Anthony Quinn get penalised yesterday for elbowing Sam Thaiday when he wasn't even intending for it to be an elbow (or shoulder) and was simply trying to get through the tackle? It honestly sickens me how soft the game has become over the past 10 years. Sickening and soft.

They're valid points. The game has been getting softer over time. If it keeps at the current pace, they'll be playing touch footy in 10 years time. Being unable to put pressure on a kicker without being penalised is weak. Fair enough if it's late, high or targetting the kicker's legs, but that penalty in the eels v rabbitohs game was soft.

Mate I couldn't believe that penalty against Quinn. This coming from someone who hates the Storm too. I was even more surprised that Quinn didn't blow up about it. I'm sure he'll get off without being suspended, but to get put on report for something that was totally un-intentional and he wasn't aware what he did (accidentally) it's a sure sign that our game is going downhill.

If Thaiday had not been knocked silly, he wouldn't have been put on report in the first place. Placed his forearm in front of him, not cocked and used it to brace impact with defenders. You would see it countless times throughout any given game.

Quinn's situation is the same as Moimoi's from last week. Put on report simply because the player happened to be injured. There was nothing illegal in it. It was a big call because giving a penalty against the attacking side is a huge momentum change.

I don't really have a problem with the new protect the kicker rule. If you're going to make a legitimate tackle fine... but most players just charge in with the only intention of knocking the defenceless player off his feet with a shoulder charge or a shove. To me that's pretty soft in itself.

Oh f**k off.
Get some glasses, are you blind?

Not only do you see him raise his elbow as the tackle commences, but you see that evil look he gets when he plays dirty looking straight at Thaiday.

Oh FFS! You want players penalised for "evil looks" now? Go watch Netball.

League is definately too soft these days. They've almost completed the process of turning League away from a game where you'll see toughmen like Wiki, Morley, Tallis and Crocker bash the sh*t out of eachother to a touch footy game of side-stepping and flick passes where the likes of Benji Marshall are the stars.

Now ive got nothing against the likes of Benji. His like add alot to the game. But the thing that used to make league so unique was fast-paced brutal action. But thats now all but been eradicated from the game.

And thats thanks to over-refereeing, the use of the video ref (which in turn has created a "diving" era), over-zealous judiciary panels and the messing around at the play-the-ball.

Bottom line is get used to it Bulldogs Force. League has changed forever, and its definately been for the worse.

Its quite sad, really.
