The forwards are too small and cant make any yards

The backs dont have enough pace (e.g. Prince made a big break near the end of the game, Elford couldnt catch up, and by the time he catches the ball, Manly defenders are up to him and he is gased.

Our youth, they will only shine will we have some bigger players. I dont see them breaking through for another few seasons.

If we go by youth policy, we will be down near the bottom 8 for the next 4 years or even more, prolonging our drought of no finals football

Main problem is no leg speed, we have to be the slowest side ever! Too many veterans, too many kids ut just hasn't worked. Prince never takes the line on, our kick chase is hopeless, Our backs don't return the ball with any enthusiasm. Basically as everyone else is saying we have nothing...0% of anything, there are no positives.

Elford is a joke. Release him now. He and Prince have to be the worst defensive combo I have ever seen. The funny thing Elford's straight spped is okay but his lateral speed ... well he makes Steve Roach look like Carl Lewis

Don`t quoteme,but I heard Whatuira got outplayed by a 19y.o centre in his 2nd 1st grade game.It`s amazing what teams can do when they give their youth a chance.ie Souths playing Garth Wood,John Sutton,Wes Tillott,Joe Williams,David Fa`alogo etc.If we don`t start giving our blokes a go,we`ll finish behind Souths,nothing surer!

Lay off guys.Elford especially was one of our better players today.Made some try saving tackles and played strongly in attack.The reason we lost today was our appallling ball control and nothing else.Until we as a team learn to hold the ball and do the little thins right we will continue to struggle.

Garth Wood is a former Balmain junior. He is Nathan Woods younger brother. He used to wrok at the Kurrajong Hotel at Erskineville. Top bloke. Great to see him doing well

Happy you simply arent watching the whole game. You say Elford made some try saving tackles but you neglect to mention how many times he was caught out of position

There are areas of his game which are not perfect.But for mine he is our strongest and most threatning centre at the moment.His defesive lapses are not the reason that we lost today.

Elford is an utter dud.Slower than my granny,misses too many tackles and has the worst hands in the comp.He drops the ball with no one even near him?????

How many times is he going to have a clear run to the line,and get moved down by a back rower and then drop it on the first tackle.

Geez i cant believe people are criticising elford so badly in here. He dropped a ball or 2 or 3 yesterday. Apart from his clumsy hands this season he's been one of our better players, some people have short memories.
