........
People can defend him all they like, but Roy, as Chairman, has done more in a month than I've seen Alan do in 10 years.
Harsh, but true.

Suity
I would be interested in what you know has been done in the last month that trumps Alan last 10 years.

1. stood down CEO for investigation that we never heard result of
2. came to agreement with DF
3.released statement re:Cayless
4. stood up for Zappia to apply for CEO job
what else has happened?

which one is that ron? - the one you obsess over? - the one you think the whole world is against cos it makes you feel important to be head of his cheer club? .... fmd - get over it ffs - 99.99% of this forum think jarryd is our best player and have done for some time - quit the "I love jarryd and no one else does" charade

seriously - everyone is a f'n know-it-all expert on here .... fact of the matter is we don't know sh*t about the day to day running of the club

YES - i am happy that ovo and co have had their time and moved on and we have some new energy around the place - but ppl like ovo kept this club ticking through the good times and the bad

Yes but people like him maintained the bad and ultimately contributed to it for way too many years. Some people should stop all this sugar coating the former board members contribution in their failure to oversee and dismiss a CEO who is not delivering. And if they don't agree on what is happening then they should resign and or run their own ticket. To just sit there and keep voting for things that you do not like or agree with is either stupid, selfish, corrupt or all three.

mmm - tarring and feathering is so much more trendy on this forum

how do you even know what Ovo did and didn't vote for? you were at the board meetings? he told you? .... the few times I heard ovo talking, he seemed like he was kinda frustrated with certain things regarding the running of the club .... I agree it would have been better for the club to have a board full of members who were interested in keeping fitzy honest, but obivously fitzy had this thing under his control for a long time .... the LC had a very successful period financially, I can understand how they all got stuck in a rutt and just thought it would keep going - but clearly that didn't happen and change was needed

When it comes down to it I don't care for excuses and I don't need to know the inner workings of the board or their opinions or the way each board member votes. I go by the end result and that is all that matters when it comes to business. ;-)

lol, they recruited Hagan etc didn't they, the bottom line is the buck stops with them

I'm actualy looking at this differently to everyone else..

for many years Alan and the board were very restricted in decisions made about football matters as Fitzy decided that in most cases he didn't need their input, Dennis is a shrewd operator and control freak..plain and simple, he would never seek the board for approval he would sign, consult and recommend it, then ask questions later, that was the way he operated.

Now having said all that while Alan made the comment he did, has anyone actually considered with Ovo himself had support of his own board? has it ever occoured to anyone that maybe in a board room envioronment, he was severely outnumbered on many issues? and if Alan is as bad a chairman as he was why the hell would Roy Spagnolo waste about 1 hour of his time at the last home game in deep conversation witth him about football matters???

Alan has proved to me what i always suspected, that he himself never had support of his board and that the CEO was a control freak.

Exactly...but Parra fans always need someone to take out their frustrations on, and Ovo has copped it since the day 3P started. Never mind that he was still only one vote on a board of 7, never mind that Fitzy was our very own little Stalin, and never mind that none of them have them have any idea who voted for or against what and what went on at any of the board meetings...

well perhaps Ovo gave him too much power, and if he couldn't contain him he should've walked, he didn't, his lack of stance fed fitzy more and more power, and it got to a point which fitzy was something like a Stalin in our organization.

I think the current board wont allow this, whoever is the new CEO will obviously have to comply with a sh*tload of KPI's, and if they don't they'll be gone, well i'm hopeing anyway.

Perhaps the 6 other board members could have given him less power too, hey? You do know there are 7 of them, right? Why single out the one who was clearly unhappy with the situation ffs?

What does the length of time have to do with anything? It doesn't change the fact that he was one vote out of seven. He could have voted against everything we complain about, and if he was outnumbered then it would make no difference

And that makes his vote count for more? It's a BOARD, not a CHAIRMAN WHO MAKES ALL THE DECISIONS AND SIX OTHER HANGERS ON

it's all done and dusted but if a good part of the buck doesnt stop with a chairman of any given board then that'll do me.....

and if you personlly think that was the case with the former board than i think you're kidding yourself fish,

part of the reason why I wanted change was because I didn't think the chairman at our club had a say.

Each man is accountable only to his own decision or actions.

And

Because he is the one who came out and made those ridiculous and hypocritical statements.
