I didn't see the game last night.

But if certain players sprout they want to play for other nations one day like Payne Haas has this week then refuse to sing the Australian national anthem then I think it is a disgrace.

Your playing for Australia sing the anthem or piss off and play for some other country that means more to you then just collecting a lousy paycheck.

I think its been clear for a while that for some of these current players especially playing for NSW and Australia is just a monetary gain for them not the actual people or jersey they represent is a second thought.

When previously playing for Rep footy was an honour and privilege. The rep jerseys are getting devalued every year.

I am sure you could find players out there would do anything to play for Australia even for nothing if they got asked.

But I think it more shows that representing Australia though for those that don't want to sing it doesn't mean anything. And its just for there own selfish gain. Its not what Rep teams should be about.

Where do we have these issues about players refusing the sing the Anthem in all other sports for National teams like Rugby, Football, Cricket when the National Anthem is played. It only seems to only pop up in Rugby League.

Like i said Payne Haas came out last week and expressed his desire to play for Samoa one day. He was allegedly one of the 4 players that didnt sing the Anthem.

Here is a tip Payne if you want to play for Samoa and not give the Australia Jersey the respect it deserves piss off and play for Samoa.

Probably gassed from his boxing training and exploits... it (and presumably the different training needs etc) seemed to take a focus over league in the latter part of the year.

Hopefully once Junior's Samoa duties are done he actually takes a break during the off-season, so he's not cooked from the start and can lead like he used to.

I do, however, have a problem with a current Australian player publicly mentioning that they would love to represent another country one day. It’s not a good look.
