I don't think there ruining rugby league at all. I just think everyone is investing time into the pacific teams more than the euro teams. And then geniused f**ks say shit like "get better or f**k off" its a bit hard to become better nations if no one is investing time/tests/money into euro countrys.
I agree.
We should stop pumping up countrys where the game is popular so countries in Europe where nobody plays the game can compete better with heritage players.

Well the island teams have proof that at full strength they can compete with anyone... Euro teams on the other hand have along way to go... For me island teams have more potential then the euro teams atm

I'll hope people start to understand the importance and need of Euro teams playing in the world cup. Or i honestly won't bother watching either. I feel that strongly. Imagine a world cup with the no euro teams and just Aus, NZ, and the pacific nations, then you will all be winging about how the game needs to develop in Europe. But f**k, i'll watch the horror unfold over the next 10 years. If no one gives a f**k, then i guess no one gives a f**k.

There will always be Euro and American etc teams in the World Cup, a certain number of qualifying spots are given to each region.

With respect to the Fiji team and their supporters, there is no way they should have beaten NZ tonight. There has to be some serious problems within the Kiwi team.

Relax mate lol, the game needs strong euro teams, bigger populations, more potentional money and so on. But this Work cup is a wake up call for Europe they are falling behind in my opinion.

Of course they do! Time/money and test football goes to them.

1. Injuries
2. Not enough test matches
3. irish, serbian, scottish, italian teams need to be in championship 1.

Wales are far from falling behind. One of the best domestic leagues. And how the f**k can i relax? But if the aussies want a non competitive world cup where euro teams go to the point where they cant participate, fine have it your way. Its happening to Scotland. How the f**k can i relax?!?!!??

Scotland don’t have a domestic comp, what is the super league doing to help that ?. Why doesn’t the super league look after its area like the nrl kinda does with the south.

Firstly it does, it helped set up and fund the RLEF which has done more for international development than everything else in the past 120 years combined. Secondly Super League (you mean the RFL) does not have a billion dollar TV deal like the NRL does.

Why can’t they get the tv deals ? Because the super league is falling behind, obsessed with signing washed up Aussies and kiwis lol, or second rate players instead of putting the money into coaching and professional behaviours off the field to produce the best home grown.

The super league and the nrl are both constrained by the power of the clubs.

With Welsh, French and Canadien teams in the English structures id say they are doing their bit. Havent we seen teams from places like Russia in the Challenge Cup? Seems like the perfect vehicle for clubs from developing nations to experience a higher level of performance

Gee if only you were the CEO we might get a billion dollars like the NRL does.

That doesn't really happen any more, they got flogged by amateur teams and it was mostly a pointless exercise.

The thing is that amateur domestic RL is largely irrelevant to what we see in a World Cup. Again, how many of the Fiji or Tonga teams are products of the domestic Fiji or Tonga RL? If we're talking about the number of home grown players who have been brought through the domestic system then Wales would flog all the Pacific nations and France would probably beat NZ. In Europe we have 25+ nations playing the sport but it's at a low amateur level and none of them have the money or resources to move past that. Until there is some type of breakthrough in terms of investment or whatever then it will never translate to results on a world stage.
