Henry too, but Jamieson is a nightmare atm

shame that flogging we have India doesn’t count for the test championship...

Pakistan have shown character in both tests without their best player

A 50 to Azhar- well deserved, with wickets tumbling around him

Has any Kiwi bowler had a better start than Jamieson? Bond, maybe.

Just looked- 2002, Bond's second year, was his breakout. Averaged about 31 in his first year and then about 17 the next year (according to my rough calculations)

Averaged 20.78 in 3 Tests, 1937

Career obviously interrupted by something....
Only played about 10 all up, few tests around back then, just after Grimmett left?

Bradman apparently said he was an excellent bowler, should be discussed more in our best ever teams...

In any event, Jamieson's current average (13.82) is superb.

Yep, obviously it's unlikely to stay there, but there's a simplicity to what he does that gives me some confidence he'll be good irrespective of the conditions - being 6 ft 8, and consistent in line with swing at a decent pace are good foundations to start with.

Mixed feelings on whether he should have played in Australia, pretty sure he's picked up some pace since then - I first saw him as a school boy, batting top 3 and opening batting - he was huge then, but with Glenn Phillips stood out as having obvious potential - hopefully the more gradual development means his body had strengthened enough to handle the load
