Wow what a disgrace... cant believe the broncos board didn't put a stop to him recruiting without letting them know
You're probably unaware that the Broncos operate completely differently than most Sydney based clubs where football operations, such as recruitment and coaching, operates outside of the Board and corporate structure of the club.
Be assured, the dysfunctional, chaotic and totally ineffectual recruitment under Griffin was all his own doing.
And there are two parts to Griffin's recruitment. First, the club could not attract any Sydney based players at all, except third stringers such as Stewart Mills. The number of rumours of players that were pursued by the club but then lost was very long and frustrating for Broncos fans at the time.
Secondly, Griffin seemed unable to recruit for positional gaps in the team, but seemed to recruit bright shiny things, such as Scott Prince, even though he already had Corey Norman, Ben Hunt, Peter Wallace and Andrew McCullough in the squad.
Gould is nuts if he things Griffin's tenure at the Broncs was a building phase of some sort. It was chaos.
