Nothing justifies the timing. This is a coach who was set to make the finals 3 years in a row. Something very difficult to achieve in such a competitive league. This is more NFL than EPL. 2 wins from first place, unless the Panthers win it all there will always be a "what if" cloud hanging over the decision.
Sacking a coach mid season and mid contract when he is consistently building a finals contender is insanity. We always hear it is a result orientated business, well he was getting better results than almost anyone and he got sacked. Gus is building up incredible expectations, if they don't win it all this year or next he should be sacked himself.
