Panthers v Broncos

Our forwards pulled their fingers out for once but looking at the sides we easily has them beat for speed and skill in the backs yet we didn't use it. Soward kicked for touch every chance he got, obviously at Ivan's instructions but it was the wrong game plan imo.

I still don't see it with DWZ, I don't see him being any stronger or quicker than average. Jack Reed contained him comfortably.

At least with Jennings you can see he's a hard guy to bring down, same with Blake. I hope he come on

That was the defence & performance we lacked in a few earlier losses. Attack won't be there til we get match fitness in Sowie & Seg back. Can't fault the performance.

That said takes us to 3 wins from our last 14 in QLD & IMO we to win this week to stay on track for finals footy.

Look at our record at Brookie. Last we should of won on paper & how the game went. We should win but I am not confident.

I suppose if you win by cheating, you still get the two points, but we get bragging rights for beating you fair and square, but I must admit, the draw for round 9 is the easiest we have had this year.

This decision didn't determine the result in any case. It's over now, time to move on. We probably weren't quite the better side anyway but we ran it awfully close.

Broncos ultimately fluked a win against a side missing 6 starting players and had Moylan playing with a busted up hand. I think if either side should be disappointed with the efforts it is Broncos. It was a nice tough game, but one side was near full strength and the other is basically being held together by sticky tape.

They're doing well this year, but if they are a genuine premiership contender you would expect them to absolutely annihilate teams missing half a starting side.

Mansour
Whare
Idris
Wallace
Kite
Segeyaro

That's a huge lot of experience and the salary cap on the sidelines. Panthers should be proud of that effort. Rookie centres against veterans, our 7th halves pairing in 9 games, a busted up fullback, a 5/8th who hasn't played in 8 weeks and two wingers who are only playing because of injury.

If they scored off that set then sure. But they didn't so I don't think it cost us the game. Maybe the Soward call could have but those decisions change the game, likely it would have been more high scoring.

I have never seen so many excuses crammed into 1 post, well done

Mate those are facts. Broncos would have lost to what is almost a reserve grade side had that Soward kick gone into touch and not gone dead in goal.

3 points separating an almost full strength Broncos side that sits on top of the ladder, and an injury depleted Panthers side hanging around the fringe of the top 8. A genuine contender should be putting away depleted sides with ease.

We all know Boncos2010 and Blazzazazz are the dumbest twats in the Broncos section on LU. 2010 has had to wait a whole year to have something to brag about and Blazzazazz has the biggest mouth on the forum until you give him a tiny bit of shit and he gets upset about not getting the respect he deserves.

When they fish, don't bite. We've still got a stupid amount of injuries. If that Broncos team had played us full strength they would have been sent packing. Good luck to em. They'll need it.

Dallin has been very good for a 19yo imo. He said last week he hasn't played centre since he was 15 or 16 so he will not be comfortable there yet. Remember he has been picked twice for the kiwis and that is no small feat these days. Sometimes we expect to much from these kids, myself included.

Yeah fair point, I do forget he's only 19!

the only guy who would have made a difference to the outcome would have been Segeyaro and if you're a realist you'd know that

Mansour - winger who's best attribute is bringing the ball back, you didn't lack go forward
Whare - centre, barely going to change the result
Idris - I have read on other forums you guys have better options, yet you put him in here why?
Wallace - solid halfback who is probably one of the best defensive halves in the comp, hasn't featured since Lockyer retired
Kite - lol
Segeyaro - impact player who you guys are sorely missing

we were missing Thaiday who has been one of our best this year since Wayne arrived, also Boyd first game back from a significant achillies injury and he was obviously told just to play a secure game at the back

we weren't at our best and still did enough to win, that's what good sides do
