Don't get me wrong but I suspect this is a game where we are resigned to 'losing'.

I think the brains trust is thinking there is no point rushing guys back early in a game where we are long odds to win.

Do the best we can this week, hope for the best and bring the likes of Soward, Taylor and Co back where they are 100%.

I don't expect too many changes from the side that has been announced.

I agree with this. As I said earlier in the thread, would rather blokes back at 100% rather than rushing them back at 90-95%. A loss in this game, so long as it is not a complete lashing, is not the end of the world.

I don't think we have any pressure going into this game and we should put in a decent performance.

Brisbane are playing well and I think they will get the win off the back of a solid defensive performance. Argh I hate having to concede this!

Yeo is a defensive player though. Kinda team balance we need to play Cartwright for some variety

Yeah I agree with this.

Yeo obviously isn't the skilled attacking player that Bryce is but he is quick for a forward and as you have said many times he runds pretty good lines and he has very good offload himself for a 20yo, he was an outside back only when we brought to Penrith a few years ago so he has some attacking ability. I think he will be a rep player in 4 or 5 years.

I rate Yeo. I can see him taking over the Brown role next season then as a prop in 5 or so years. ATM we have Plum, Brown, Taylor that play that same style and we need variety

I don't think Plum, Brown and Taylor's play styles are similar at all.

They are great defenders, Run the ball hard but don't have much in the way of ball playing skills. Compare that to Peachey or Cartwright that's what I meant

Taylor is fairly skilled though, he doesn't show it so much because he is usually tackling himself to death.

I have a really good feeling about this one. I think with Soward playing that Blake and DWZ will run some nice lines into holes. They are really slow out wide. We should take full advantage of our speed.

I really like Api at hooker. Our ruck momentum looked great last game.

No Thiaday is a big loss for them.

Be interesting to see how we run out.

Not much difference between a front rower and lock if we are playing Manu there. I actually thought Manu defended outside Plum and Plum at lock but it's pretty hard to tell, and with Manu being named at lock I guess Cleary considered Manu his lock and Plum the other front rower.

So with Taylor back, does he keep the same 3 in the middle and play Taylor wide? That might mean Yeo out of the side completely as Cartwright might be considered better coming off the bench than Yeo. With Taylor underdone does Taylor come off the bench? If so he's probably a straight trade for Cartwright. Or maybe Taylor comes in at lock and pushes Manu wide, Cartwright or Yeo to drop.

Our defence seemed to improve when Plum came back and Manu moved into the middle, but then that might be more the result of the opposition, 3 of the 3 games with that make up was against the Sharks without Gallen and Fifita and then other against Manly who are as crap as us in the middle.

Taylor makes a million tackles in the middle but generally not as dominant as Plum and Manu, but really I thik it's a band-aid fix, he's good enough that we should be able to afford playing Taylor in the middle, if we can't then we have real underlying problems.

We're looking better defensively with Manu at lock, but I want Taylor there because Taylor is pretty useful in the middle on attack, has some footwork, can offload, play short passes to forwards and link with backs, and out wide while he's pretty great at shutting the side of the field he's on down in defense, he's been pretty useless in attack.

I just realised the game is a delayed telecast, is there any way I can watch it live in Sydney?

You can try and find a stream for it but I doubt you will get one that is good quality unfortunately. I've decided to take the painful option and not check the score and then watch the terrible channel 9 delay :(

I just seen the lurker posted this

Sshh…keep it to yourself*Rumour #1:*Which high-profile star is dirty at being forced into playing by his coach with an injury that won't mend?*What we can reveal:*Check out our casualty ward*. It should become clearer after that. He's been out a while and is no closer to a return.

Sounds a lot like Soward to me
