first of all, I would be interested in a bloke like O'Donnell, I think "if fit" is the perfect player we need, I wouldn't go any further than a 3 year deal...

just remember, he may well be asking for a 4year deal but he may not be asking as much some of you thing, also alot of people aren't going to agree with me here but if we were going to war I would probably rather have O'Donnell than Feleti..
good thing we're not in a war .... i'd just pick the footy player thats the best fit

Id sign him for 3, He is the type of player we need, we need mongrel and thats what he will add. would be a great fit with the team. He would also get the aggression out of the players by the way he plays. Yes he is injury prone but he hasnt spent a pre season with Hayden Knowles has he? and what i keep hearing is that he is the best trainer to be trained by, i think Luke would be great under Hayden, and could see he's game really take off again.

I doubt O'Donnell's asking price would be to cheap, this being his last deal and all. I'd much rather Blair,Lima or Manu.

dunno - personally i think shacklton is the 2nd rower we need to come into the side .... i won't die if we get o'donnell, but i'm not keen on it either - i think we have greater needs than another back rower

it depends what you mean by cheap...

given that he's asking for a 4 year deal at his age I don't think he's asking price is as big as you think...

we definitely need a backrower, that is a priority imo.

so lets put some value on it .... what's he worth over 4 years?

i can't believe he/his manager would see him less than $250K a year - they'd still be calling him an origin player etc etc

i think we need another back rower, just not sure one that wants as much coin as o'donnell will want ... imo we need a young up and comer to come off the bench and offer some enthusiasm (hindy, shack, smith is a sound starting side)

its similar to the glenn morrison buy we made few seasons ago i think, still i think 4 years is a tad too much but 3 would be sweet. Just hopefully if we do get him the prick doesnt get injured like he always does.

Id welcome the signing , adds a bit of agression to our otherwise nice guy forward pack

I'd love to see him here, for the aggression factor. We always look good when we have an angry player to balance the calm/nice players in the team.. but wow, 4 years. Even im thinking thats a bit much. 2 years with options?

Well i've heard a few times before JT re-signed that LOD said he wanted to stay but depends on how much money is left for him. So by those remarks he would be looking at around the 300k mark which on our part is lunacy. You could get Blair for that money.

i think morrison had alot more to offer .... morrison had 1 injury - yeah a bad one, but was otherwise a consistant quality player - all players will get a bad injury at some stage of their career - morrison got over it and was back to his usual non-injured self .... o'donnell seems to spend a large chunk of every season sitting on his arse either injured or suspended .... i just don't know if we need to spend substantial $$$s on that type of player

Pretty sure I read we got Shack for $175k. Is he worth more than him ? Maybe a tad more but years 3 & 4 he'd need to meet KPI's.

well that's the thing, we don't know how much he's asking and we're definitely lacking in depth with FM leaving..

I'd prefer Blair ahead of LOD however Blair's situation is a little different as he's still under contract until the end of 2011 and we would need to liase with Storm about a pay out figure and compete with alot of other clubs including the dogs.

Play hardball with him. If he's still available come December then offer him a contract about half what he's asking for now. He may have been a good player at some point in his career but quite frankly most people can't remember when that was. Very high risk.

Although perhaps there is a reason that we are looking at him rather than Blair... something to do with money... money that they are trying to give to another player... possibly from Melbourne...

I'm pretty sure morro was quoted as saying that his treatment at Parra was far superior to the one he recieved at the Cowboys and had alot to do with why he played many games at the eels.

IMO five years ago he was a gun and you would pay top dollar for him then but now pfffftt his done nothing. He's not woth more than 150k a year on a 2 year deal max.

Sika Manu and Blair now they are players you sign up to 4 year deals. Young and strong.

Good player, little to old I think.

Neville Costigan anyone ?
- he is still young
- is tough
- I reackon still has some improvement in him
- would be cheaper then LOD
- plus with the storm problems he may be overlooked in the player market

Thats who I would chase over LOD.
