I'm confused... Hasn't this already been brought up in previous seasons? Wasn't it already given the nickname the 'prowler' tackle? Pretty sure someone already did get seriously injured by it maybe 2 seasons ago (can't remember player) How is this a new issue?

Craig Wing was put out for pretty much the entire season because of the tackle (I think it was Jake Friend who did it).

If they didn't make a rule then, why would they now when no player is injured.

You see these tackles all the time - there have been very few injuries from them.

i reckon the warriors did it to us several times last week - its part of what u expect playing the warriors, some big bugger is going to slam you in the ribs/back/legs when u r prone a few times a game - if u stand in the tackle someone will come in and try and finish u off - i'm sure hindy, who is renown for standing in the tackle, has copped it plenty over the years

Unfortunately, this is a negative aspect of a Melbourne inspired coaching style. Effective, ruthless, but somewhat unethical.

P.S Chris Heighington from the Tigers comes in third man to the ribs almost every tackle.
