Go for souths jersey or reserve grade team then lol ahhahahahhaha good luck next season fellas.
Ridell is an aweseome player and if he went to parra i bet u guys would love it.

I think you'll find in all seriousness, most supporters with a little bit of knowlege on the game would love "Pig" at the club if he came. ;-)

We would like nothing more then that fat little porky pie running his pigglet bum towards the try line for us.

Manly sign Ben Kennedy and we can't & won't sign quality, Manly is a club that is that broke...they have to recycle underpan'ts, yet we can't attract anyone.

Serious questions have to be asked if a club like our's with all the money, supporters, stadium etc cannot sign a top quality player.

And please don't tell me BK signed becuse he happened to be a good friend of blockers

I think that the new owner of the Manly club is a rich business man. Looks like manly is cashed up and will use the whole 3.25 Million for next season.

Tahu to Manly is the latest rumour too.

The Herald named Riddell, Orford, Tahu, Pritchard, Kurt Gidley and Brent Kite as players we were targetting next year.

Orford looks like staying in Melbourne, Riddell seems to be after a 4 year deal with Cronulla, Tahu to Manly possibly, Kite seems certain to Canberra. Pritchard is a possibility but he has been linked with the Broncos. Have not heard anything about Gidley. And this is after 4 days.

Untill it is offical as is the case with Kennedy, rumours mean little.

Saying that however, I'm expecting

Tahu - Knights/Manly/Eels
Riddell - Eels/Saints
Pritchard - Eels
K.Gidley - Knights/Roosters
Kite- Raiders
Orford - Storm

I think you're pretty spot on there, though I think Riddell will end up at Cronulla. If we miss out on those guys wonder who else we'll target, hopefully it's not reserve graders and bench warmers from struggling clubs again.

Do we need to go apeshit and sign players?

Maybe a couple but what about the blokes in the lower grades?

I'd be happy just with Riddell, Tahu and Pritchard.

To the people saying, "SIGN THE JUNIORS!!!" etc. - you have a point. But what if our juniors (God forbid) turn out to be duds in Firsts?

You then need proven First Graders.

I really think we need to go hard for these blokes (or Morrison if not Pritchard), release players we'll never use and spend on the young ones.

Realistically, though, I just have this horrible feeling we will not sign any quality players.

Yeah, I don't think you have to sign a team's worth of players or anything. Your buying priorities should be based around the holes you have in your team - -weak spots or players leaving.

Hopkins, Kaufusi, Kativerata, Langi, McKinnon, Muspratt, O'Dwyer, Pai, Pearson, Peek, Prince, Webster, and Widders are our players off contract at the end of the year (I think). Re-sign McKinnon before June 30, I'd have a think about re-signing Hopkins, Langi, and Widders too...

And then get in the market for players to plug our weakest gaps - say one or two centres, a big fella, a hooker/utility. Four decent players better than what we've got.

If we fail in making these "big buys", look at securing some of those juniors, or re-signing some of the guys listed above!

I agree.

I think that just signing Riddell, Tahu and Pritchard would be a step in the right direction.

Then we let go players we don't need and keep juniors.

But we definitely need a big name or two.

If Parra do sign Tahu, I wonder if Lyon will be given a full release 1 week into the 2005 seaon.

That way Parra free up some more money under the cap (if the NRL decide that Lyon's contract as is will be counted under the cap) but it also means that as the 2005 season had already started most teams would be unable to sign him till 2006 anyway.
