Peni Terepo is carrying the ball pretty well but we are lacking fluency and there are enough backward fumbles to kill all our momentum.

GROW UP QUICKLY...When Parramatta's Toyota Cup coaching staff realised halfway through the year that their side wasn't finals material, they dropped their 20 year olds and introduced seven SG Ball players to speed up their development. The result? Just a three-win season - but a glut of prodigies ready to step up this year. "A lot of people make a big point of winning and losing the -20s comp," Cameron says. "Yes, you'd like to win games but realistically the -20s comp for us is a vehicle to work out who could play NRL and who can't. We're just really focused on identifying good kids in our junior teams and accelerating them."

early days, but the 'glut of prodigies' might need a bit longer to step up to this comp

Great kick return from the fullback Ulugia gives us some impetus and a quick play the ball leads to a penalty.

A line drop out is a reward for a more consistent set. Webhe chips it deep into the ingoal but a good chase forces the Warriors to bat it dead.

Dodged another bullet after the ref rightly rules a forward pass after the Warrior's regather a chip kick.

Still we are playing much better, with our boppa's churning up some metres up the middle and a more concerted effort in defence overall.

Penalty to Parra gives us possesion 40m out from the Warrior's line but we lose possession straight up.

Frustrating stuff

Warriors hand over the ball after a half-break from their fullback and Parra pick up a penalty immediately. Just about last roll of the dice for the first half.

Josh Tuitupou just forced into touch before he grounds the ball (it was close) so Parra narrowly miss out on reducing the margin.

Half Time

NZ 12 - Parra 4

NZ have been the dominant team but a resilient effort by our boys mean they only trail by 8 at the mid way point.

Between Fraser, Terepo, Seumanufagai and Asiata we have had some good impetus up the middle but some sloppy hands out wide have squandered most of the early chances we have had.

Breust and Webhe have had a mixed game thus far with some great long range 5th tackle kicks but also a lack of willingness to attack the line directly.

Most of the damage wrought by the Warrior's has been due to their excellent second phase play with some excellent backing up by their outside backs.

Loko has rarely been sighted and definitely needs to go looking for the ball if he wants a slice of first grade.

Our forwards have been pretty good IMO, held their own but our halves need to lift. Our backs haven't seen much ball to be fair to Loko.
