did in anyone see Ava put a tigers defender to sleep in the second half??
Barbar was taken off and that is when the scoring stopped from us, unsure why he was taken off though, he was exciting with the ball in hand imo......
TOYOTA CUP NEWS
GROW UP QUICKLY...When Parramatta's Toyota Cup coaching staff realised halfway through the year that their side wasn't finals material, they dropped their 20 year olds and introduced seven SG Ball players to speed up their development. The result? Just a three-win season - but a glut of prodigies ready to step up this year. "A lot of people make a big point of winning and losing the -20s comp," Cameron says. "Yes, you'd like to win games but realistically the -20s comp for us is a vehicle to work out who could play NRL and who can't. We're just really focused on identifying good kids in our junior teams and accelerating them."
LIVING THE DREAM...Cameron nominated exciting young prop Toby Key as one player to watch. Key has just signed a two-year contract with the club and has jsut made the transition from Moree to Sydney. "He has really flourished over the pre-season and it's been really exciting for him, living in Sydney," Cameron says. "He's living the dream at the moment and has been a wonderful acquisition for the club."
A NEW BARBA...Just when we started becoming accustomed to the energetic exploits of Ben Barba at the Bulldogs, 20-year-old brother Marmin has moved across from Bankstown and will start in the No. 1 jersey for the Eels this year. Just like his brother, Barba will start playing at fullback before a likely career in the halves.
CAMERON GETS CAMERON...Another key recruit for the Eels this year is talented halfback Cameron Bruest, who transferred from Canberra in search of an opportunity, He'll link in the halves with local product Jason Wehbe, the smiling goalkicker who was another SG Ball player to move up in the middle of the year. "[Cameron] was stuck behind Sam Williams at the Raiders, and he'll probably get first crack at [No.] 7," coach Cameron says. "He's had a really good pre-season and done a bit with the NRL {Ed F20; Squad I presume??}. I'm looking forward to watching him go."
HE NO LOKO...We're counting the amount of games young gun Jacob Loko will play in Toyota Cup before getting a call-up to first grade. With little depth in first grade at the centre position, don't be surprised if first grade mentor Stephen Kearney decides to give the kid a go. "We don't want to rush hin, but you're right, it's a question of when, not if he plays first grade," Cameron says. "He's a good kid and he's trained really well all pre-season. I'm looking forward to him flourishing."
Lock Rory Brien will captain the squad.

Lots of irrelevant stuff I know but it's always good to get some insight into one of our young lads.Matthew Eisenhuth, Eels
MY RUGBY LEAGUE IDOL
Paul Gallen is my cousin. He called me before Australian Schoolboys to give me some tips. We talk regularly. He's someone from the family who's been so successful so it gives me something to aspire to.
MY FIRST BIG BREAK
I was selected as a shadow player for NSW Combined Catholic Colleges a couple of years ago. I played against players that were a year older than me. In a trial game against Parramatta I played really well and they signed me not long after that. Next year I played SG Ball and Under 20s so it was a good kick-start for my career.
FAVOURITE MOVIE
Dodgeball. It's got a lot of good one-liners and it's really funny. I like Vince Vaughn too.
FAVOURITE TV SHOW
Two and a Half Men. It's amusing and has a bit of everything in it - it appeals to all age groups.
FAVOURITE OTHER SPORT
I played AFL and cricket growing up and I still watch those sports and keep an interest in them.
IF I COULD HAVE A SUPER POWER FOR ONE DAY I'D CHOOSE...
To be invisible. Then I'd be able to see and hear things I normally couldn't.
WHERE I WENT TO SCHOOL
St Paul's Catholic College in Greystanes. I remember at lunchtimes we used to play cards and muck around with food fights. I played a lot of footy at school. I wouldn't have been able to get to Schoolboys footy if it wasn't for St Paul's.
BEST SUBJECT
English. I had a pretty good teacher and excelled in that class. When I got my HSC results back it was my best mark.
WORST SUBJECT
Biology. The content wasn't what I expected and I just lost interest.
JUNIOR REP FOOTY I'VE PLAYED
Under 16's Harold Matthews for Western Academy, Under-18s SG Ball for PArramatta and the Australian Schoolboys in the same year. I played with Jacob Gagan and Trent Jennings in the Schoolboys side who play Toyota Cup for the Eels as well.
TEAM-MATE WITH THE WORST HABIT
Dean Blackman. He's just a pest. He thinks Queenslanders are superior to everyone else and is jsut annoying at training.
BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON MY CAREER
My dad has always been there for me and given me encouragement. He's honest and tells me if I've had a bad game and how I can improve on it for next week. Both Mum and Dad have been around Australia with me and overseas as well for the Schoolboys tour so I've always had support.
WHAT I NEED TO IMPROVE IN 2011.
My size. I need to get bigger because I'm quite tall but still pretty skinny. Also my attacking game, getting more touches on the ball and my runs.
MY ADVICE FOR KIDS
Don't give up hope if you want it that bad. You're not gonna get it for free. You've just got to keep working hard.
