Parra ruled to have knocked on as Breust bats the ball out to the wing. Gagan was in otherwise.

Good work from the Newcastle outside backs as they run a set-play . Results in a Knight's try 10m out from touch.

Lots of bodies in motion.

Newcastle trail Parra 4-12 KTC

Good run from Gagan nets a penalty for Parra. Parra restart 20m out from the Knight's try line.

Parra knock on in the play the ball. Scrappy stuff and another wasted opportunity in the Knight's redzone.

The Knight's winger only needed the bounce of the footy as a clever kick caught out our backline.

Fortunately for us the grubber shoots through and we get the 20m optional restart.

Big hit from Asiata forces a knock on. We pack-in for a scrum near halfway with 20sec left on the clock in the first half.

Half Time

Parra lead Newcastle 12-4

We started strongly, pushing the Knight's down their right flank with Barba and O'Hanlon continuing their strong partnership. Our front-row continues to impress as Terepo, Seumafa-something, Asiata and Fraser all had nice touches. Fraser also had a couple of good offloads.

Defensively we have been OK but we have also dominated possession so the Knight's have only had limited opportunities to pressure us.

Barba seems to be a little stifled at 5/8, predominately staying on the left-side and often just parcelling off the footy rather than backing himself. Having said that he has laid on a try, scored one and forced a repeat set. He is a little like Hayne in that I have such big expectations (somewhat unfair, no?) for him that I consider this to be a quiet game.

We need to lift in the second half though, as we have let the Knight's back in this.
