Bruest puts in a cheeky crossfield kick for Gagan on the last play, who just misses the bounce and toes it on to the sideline to close out the match.

Full Time

Parramatta 28 def. Newcastle 8

GREAT to see the young'uns getting their season back on track!

Let's smash the Dragons (3wins 6 losses) next week and put ourselves right back in the mix for a top 8 finish!!!

Big wraps for our front-row again, there are a couple of them that might be able to graduate from the NYC and actually make it.

Breust had a decent game, with a couple of 40/20s and a try...but you wouldn't want him rolling the dice to win the game. Lucky we have Marmin Barba. Barba imposed himself far more in the second half and it showed on the scoreboard.

All up a strong performance from the boys. They didn't fold when Newcastle fought back and were clinical enough in the end to rack up a winning margin indicative of their second half dominance.

I watched the game and was very disappointed in the halves. I know Bruest picked up late in the game, but for the first 60min he was dreadful. The No. 6 hardly was seen.

However I was impressed with the front rowers and both wingers. And Barba looks the goods, lets hope his body develops enough to allow him to compete at NRL level.

I'd wager you didn't see the No.6 since there was no one wearing that jersey on the field :p

Wehbe was a late withdrawal and Barba played 5/8 in the No.1 jersey.

Wehbe is no loss.

UNLESS it means that PJ Asiata plays.... then Wehbe is a huge loss!

Thanks goodness it seems to be Barba to 6 when we're short there. I suppose Barba just shot his chance of ever playing in a Ricky Stuart team though? A fullback who can interchange to 6? Oh dear.

What has Asiata got to do with Wehbe not playing, he plays off the bench every week ?

The go forward in our forward pack really is amazing, the 2 starting props plus Asiata then you've got POH and Brien, god I wish our NRL team could play like that.

We got good props but they dont dominate like these guys do.

Cameron Breust is possibly the worst half back prospect I have ever seen wear the blue and gold.
The kid has less than Mortimer - and that's saying something.
And no, I'm not basing this on yesterday's performance only.

Barba is probably the best I have seen since Hayne. Pat O is also ready and should make the bench next year.

I agree, he is very average and I have seen plenty of average ones come through!

He is slow too, he took an intercept against the Titans and was run down within 10 metres, he should atleast made 50......I thought it was a forward at first due to the speed, or lack of, that he was running!

In the couple of games I've seen of him he kicked very well.

Then again, so did Brad Murray.
