My son is friends with some junior at our club called Vlado Janković. He is the younger brother of Ray Janković who captains the Serbian Rugby League Team and plays for the Tigers.

What position does he play and how does he go?

Ray is an ex Parramatta junior. He was selected in our Harold Matthews cup summer squad a few years back. He is 19years old. Was a hooker and has played allot of lock. He has grown abit now big boy. Around 6:1 maybe bigger. Was a decent player.

Was at the Penrih v Norths Matts trial tonight at the Druitt. Very interesting, Panthers ended up winning but scored their win when Norths took off their first choice forwards and the Riff took advantage, also helped by the penalty count of 14-3 from the Penrith officials . Final was 4 tries to 2.

Both teams should be very competitive, Norths depth will be tested, but their first choice forwards are good but lack in the halves. Would be surprised if Penrith miss the finals and possibly Norths will go close as they only missed by one place last season.

Saw the beginning of the Ball trial, that was ominous as Penrith rolled through the middle , scoring 4 tries in the first 15 minutes.

My cousins boy played for Norths. HM side. He trialed for Parra but didn't cut it. Plays in forwards. Used to play for Panther but left.

One to look out for is Genesis Talagi-Seuala but his younger brother Master System is the real superstar

From the SG Ball ranks you have Caleb Tohi and Viliami Penisini who played centre last year for the U18 side that got beat.
Also the tall African winger looks a good prospect. Who else?

I may have been standing behind the door when the competition names were announced ... but what are Laurie Daley and Andrew Johns?

Andrew Johns cup is the 16's and Laurie Daley the 18's from the former CRL competition. We play in the Northern Conference against North Coast Bulldogs, Northern River Titans, Cessnock Knights etc. Been the run the past 3 years and we've started competing last year. It's mostly the kids a year young for the Harold Matts and SG Ball.
