It's a risky move, is what it is. For every Ash Taylor there are dozens of Ryan Mattersons and Zach Dockar-Clays.

All depends on who your talent scout is I suppose. If he has a good success rate, then one or two genuine NRL standard players to emerge out of say signing 5 juniors in your top 25 isn't a bad play. Especially when you consider that most from 18 to 25 are backups anyway.

Yeah thanks scoop. The problem really is that not many teams if any can sustain more then 3 or 4 max injuries to their main roster without a major decline in performance. In some cases one or two really stuffs them up and in almost all cases the loss of their main playmaker is a mortal blow to their premiership aspirations.

Plenty of teams cop three or four injuries at a time to their top 17 players. If you can fill them with legit NRL backups your defence doesn't suffer too much. But if they're filled with unproven rookies you get blowout score lines that erode trust and morale in your playing group.

Many players look good in 20s.... Look at licha who dogs splashed out and paid overs while thinking ennis was to old. Who would you rather?

Problem is you have 17 spots. No point in having guys doubling up in positions if have a first grader there who you plan to keep.

Some players fit different schemes better. Always a risk when a player changes clubs
