My cousin was playing Sg Ball up on the central coast last year and got invited to trial for Newcastle rep sides.By the way, whilst Storm were stealing Troy Pezet from Newcastle we quietly snapped up 6’5” Australian rep prop Noah Reed. He’s just one of the Flegg forwards who are hitting their straps right now. Everyone knows Double Hyphen and Jock Brazel, but there are lots good reports for Nick Lenaz and Brock Parker.
Lindsay Munro is an indigenous fullback if small stature but lots of skill. It looks like we got winger Turoa Williams from the Dogs.
It will be super interesting to see what happens when the lads from Ball slide up in May and bolster the squad. Flegg are on a bit of a roll, sitting 5th but most all above them have had the bye. They might not win the comp in Flegg, Ball or Matts but its good that we are competitive and seemingly buying players again.
There will be the usual “development club” sarcasm posts following this one. Personally I’d prefer to hear from chaps like @ALX25 @Delboy who actually know what they are talking about.
Very few of these boys will make it to play even one NRL game, but sometimes it’s about the journey.
TBH I wish that these games were on NSWRL or Barsports on Youtube. Is it that hard ?
He reckons there junior reps up there is just a dogs breakfast. Communication & pathways are just useless.
They wanted him to join the Newcastle comp but then didn't give him anyone's or clubs to contact or information on what club he could join and had to all the leg work.
Eventually he just went stuff it wasn't worth driving after work 1hr up for training twice a week to play for a club side in Newcastle when he can just play and still get paid pretty well playing in the Central Coast comp.
