Not sure of the hype on Lindsey Smith, seen him play several times, and wouldn't class him in the top 5 front rowers in Matts. Methinks Beestinghead may have had some influence, as Forty said, not a big deal, but could even be Greenturds doesn't want our clubs name anywhere, wouldn't put it past him

Thanks Delboy and Forty20 appreciate your opinions. Your right its not worth worrying about, its just disappointing that a player from Parramatta wasn't recognised for there fantastic season.

Plenty of teams have won both the Harold Matthew Cup and National Final, but I doubt many teams in the games history have done it undefeated.

Without any disrespect to the kid from Penrith Panthers who won it (Lindsy Smith) but I agree with Delboy I wouldn't have him as my top 5 Forward in the Matts competition.

Even more confusing, If Lindsy Smith is rated as the best Matts player, then why wasn't he starting in the Nsw Origin u16s team.? He was bench player.

Would love to even know if he was awarded Penrith's Best & Fairest. Would be more interesting if he wasn't named Penrith's best & fairest, But named Nsw best & fairest

Being perhaps the only blond front rower would have helped

If Shaun Blore wasn't the Riffs best Matts player, then hard to think who was better

The kid is only 15yo currently, so he will play matts next year, great height, very good size, not a lot of kids going around with his height, size, speed 94kg that play centre at 15yo.. He might start in the centres but his player manager believes he will end up in the back row from conversations he had with the club. Whether that's next year or in the future only the club knows. apparently he can be very aggressive in defence which is another great attribute.

His move to the back-row is in fact for next year. He's been named in the second-row for the Harold Matts trials set for next Wednesday night.

As a side note, it appears we've signed Jed Edwards from the Gold Coast. He's been named as a dummy half for one of the trials next Wednesday.

I apologise all, Maybe my information was incorrect. I was informed today from my contact that the award that was given to Lindsy Smith from the Penrith Panthers Harold Matthews cup team wasn't infact the Harold Matthews Cup player of the year. Apparently this was the very first awards night of its type and its for Nsw Origin representatives from u16s - u18s - u20s - Nsw cup - 1st grade . The players that were named we awarded the medal on the one off performance in the Origin games v Qld.

I guess the main reason I got this wrong was because this awards night was held one night prior to the Nsw rugby league awards night which normally names
Harold Matthew Cup Player of the year
SG. Ball Player of the year
NYC Player of the year
Nsw Cup player of the year
But this awards night has not yet happened and I'm not sure it will happen now they have a new awards night like the one the other night.

If they do have this awards night hopefully a Parramatta Junior can be recognised for there efforts.

Again I apologise for getting my information wrong previously.

I think that kids leg has more weight than half those kids bodies

I remember back when i was a kid playing u10s/11s/etc there would always be some whopper islander kid playing for shalvey, green valley, bonyrigg, etc ... a kid with a mo and more body hair than most 18 year olds ... most had apparently "lost their birth certificates"

Because the 17 year old chain smoking apprentice jockey covered in tatts will punch the absolute merkin out of his 12 year old Samoan opponent who weighs the same.

Westfields Sports HS today won their 1st ever GIO schoolboy cup over Keebra Park HS. We have a lot of players in that team and 3 of them (Filia Utoikamanu, Alex Seve, and Noel Auckafolau) grabbed tries.

Hey mate was just going through the SG ball trial lists and there's a couple of kids missing. Most notably: William Kei, Dylan Brown, Alex Seve, and Harry Brown. Do you know why that is?
