Bamblett is 19 this year. When Hayne was 19 he scored his 29th NRL try and won Dally M Winger and the Brad Fittler Medal (NSW Origin player of the series).

But Bamblett looks pretty good. I'd say he's more likely to play first grade than not.

Jarryd Hayne was arguably the most talent player to pull on an NRL boot, bit of an unfair comparison no???

That Bamblett. Wow. You hate to make any comparisons with previous fullbacks but I saw that kind of thing from Hayne coming through. He looks special that kid.

I always thought his best position was 5/8 but the way he played yesterday has me rethinking that he will make a pretty bloody good fullback long term..

It will be good to see how the SG ball team evolves over the season as Fletcher will most likely move up to Flegg With Riley Davis also a fullback.

Maybe Bamblett will also move up to flegg this year.

The scary thing is Riley Davis is an absolute jet can’t even get a run because he is an out and out FB. He is more a what is now a traditional smaller, faster, pocket rocket sort of fullback.

At schoolboys together Bamblett played 6 and Davis was 1 and they ripped teams.

At this stage I think Bamblett probably suits fullback better as well but I think JokerEel is right he will move into 6 when Fletcher moves into Flegg. Then Davis will come into FB. Bamblett bit taller rangy body but bloody quick also.

Bamblett to me could turn into a much faster version of Corey Norman.

Hard not to get excited by the amount of young talent we have coming through atm. Going to be impossible to keep them all.

It's very hard not to get excited..

You look at our 2023 ball winning side and yes some of those players were players to get excited about but this side is something different.
We had many 2-3 forwards that were players to watch compared to basically all out 26 ball pack.

Thats going to be the issue cant keep them all.

Its keeping the ones that will be key cogs of our next premiership tilt and potentially elite players.

Who in your opinion must we keep?

Mate it will probably depend on where we are short in FG to be honest.

You look at fullback and we have Iongi already signed up long term. If I’m Bamblett I’m probably thinking in the back of my head I’m better off converting to a 6 as there is more a path there BUT then you are competing against Lorenzo and possibly Fletcher for a few years.

I think Fletcher is a no brainer as a 7 comparing his age to Moses it just looks like it’s fit perfectly for him to take over long term. The club obviously are already well aware of that with him doing an off-season

Sam Polley is one who is currently injured only his first year of SG ball and is just class from what he’s done up to now. I’d be very surprised if he didn’t become an NRL player. Then you have Hayden Bell in Matt’s very similar player behind him.

Petrus as well to come back into this team who is a powerhouse edge.

We are f**king stacked with kids and a lot of it will come down to where players think they will get the best opportunity.

Would be good to get @Cumberland Eels and @JokerEel thoughts they seem to watch the young boys regularly as well

I think you have summed it up pretty well.

Hayden Bell has been a stand-up in the short amount of time i have watched. He stood up at the end of the game yesterday in defence when all the tigers needed was a try to draw even.

Polley is also another to watch this season up now in Ball.

You can almost pick anyone in the Ball side as a player to watch this year.

Fletcher you can see has taken his game to another level with his running game and ball playing with Bamblett.

If we keep our roster open we could create a Penrith. In 2019 they got rid of heaps of stars. The rest is history.
Nompoint signing big names and losing the good kids. If we have to wait till 2028 so be it. Patience is key
