We could give it to the guy we signed from the Titans or the guy we signed from the Tigers or we could just give it to one of the 15 other players who've been at the club for years. Our under 18s won the national championship this year, after winning it last year in the under 16s.

We never had under much under 18 success until this year and yes the reason is poaching. Clubs like the Roosters and Tigers have been poaching from our champion under 16 squads for years - the Tigers poached Mitch Moses out of our 2010 Harold Matthews runner-up squad.

I remember seeing the eels 16's at Langlands park a few years ago lose the national champs to George fai and his souths Logan magpies.

Can't win them all. We narrowly beat Norths Devils the next year (2013) and last year we smashed Townsville Blackhawks to win it again. This year our 18s belted the Western Mustangs. But like I said, you can't win them all. Queensland junior teams might be shit but they will win a game here and there.
