Yeh, but you're forgetting the law of averages. And the law of large numbers. And the Law of England. If we signed enough hookers, the chances of them all being injured at one time would be f**k all. Like it would be p to the power of n, where p is the probability of being injured in a give week, and n is the number of hookers we'd signed.

It's also the constitution and Mabo

Geez that was a high quality game for U/20s, credit to Penrith also, some very skilled kids on display.

Watched it at my local with no commentry.

Who is the young hooker with the Gutho hair style ? kid is a playa

Does anyone think Toniese has an NRL future, if so where would he play. He wears the no 9 but plays more as middle forward than a dummy half and his size wont let him do that in the NRL

The young hooker with the royal hair styling is Reed Mahoney. He took out our NYC Player of the Year gong after a massive season. Leads the entire NYC in tackles despite starting a stack of games off the bench while he also chalked up tries, try assists, linebreaks and linebreak assists.

What really jumps out is his vision from dummy half, he is constantly eyeing off the markers and knows how to work them over. He is also an extremely effective kicker out of dummy half and has rattled off a quite a few 40/20s on top on a stack of quality clearing kicks.

The only real knocks on him are potentially size and a very slight tendency to overplay his hand. If you pardon the pun, he will outgrow the latter while I think he may end up being big enough to play NRL if he keeps displaying the drive and determination he put on show every week this year.

Tonise is probably harder to project to the NRL. He plays a cool hybrid hooker/lock/prop role in the 20s but he probably doesn't own either role enough in the long term. His height more than anything else will let him down. He is built like a fridge but is sub 180cm I think. While Mahoney brings a heap of craftiness and subtlety to the table, Tonise is pure smash mouth footy. Not sure how that translates to senior footy.

Dylan Brown 40 what can you tell us about him???

I can see why we are happy to let Dargan go with him coming through.

Great summary as usual champion.

Brown is just an easy player. Always plays with time and is one of the smoothest runners you will see. The fact that he has settled into the 20s so easily at the age of 17 is testament to both his skill and character. He and Joe Taipari were easily the best halves pairing in the SG Ball this year so it is little surprise to me that Brown made the jump to NYC effortlessly.

Do you know how long he is under contract for?

Because he looks 15 years old?

It's funny looking at the contrast in NYC players. The Penrith hooker looked like he was almost 30.

Thought Dylan Brown was outstanding tonight. Given his age 17yo the future looks bright.

Reed was my man of the match. Best game iv seen him play,

Do you think Reed will play 20s next year or Nsw cup. The next 3-4 years will be interesting to see what junior hookers the club have continue to develop & push for higher honours.
No wonder we haven't gone out & brought with some of the juniors we have coming through.!

Outstanding performance yesterday & good luck Parra in the GF

Congrats to Joseph Taipari and Valance Harris on their selection in the NZ U18 side for their game against the Australian Schoolboys (Trust Arena, Auckland on Saturday September 30).

Stone and Daukafolau are near certainties to play first grade. That would be why they spent so much time at Wenty this year.

Stone looks like he's put on about ten kilos since the start of the year. He must work very hard.

Or eat a lot of crap and do nothing.
