Rewatched the Harold Matthews game from yesterday now knowing the score so not as reactive.

I thought Sam Polley was very good, seemed to be everywhere in defence and made some incisive runs in attack, he reminded me of Cam Murray. With more time in league I think Steven Nunn will be a good player, was rated the #4 prospect in NZ union for his age so has some wraps coming across.

So history says about three or four merkins each from Matts and Ball will become first graders. Do you reckon you can pick them yet? I don't bother with Harold Matts but my picks from Ball are Farrugia, Fletcher and Funa-Iuta.

My 2023 picks were:
Talagi, Sanders and Tuivati are near certainties to play first grade

Fingers crossed

It's probably easy based on who either trained with first grade this year (Farrugia and Funa-Iuta) or pick those signed on announced deals (Fletcher, Talagi, Coinakis). What makes the more interesting choice is those not in either of those categories, although it is likely for them to not make it.

Based on the weekend's game and those not in those categories I liked Christopher Petrus and Tom Summer. Petrus is 18, Summer is 19.

So this BarTVSports collab with NSWRL, I have a few dumb questions.

1. The NSWRL app is available on AppleTV, Samsung TV etc. Does the NSWRL app incorporate your BarTVSports subscription? Is it like an an add on ? Or does a subscription to a season or month with BarTVSports mean that you ditch the NSWRL app and just deal with BarTVSports ?

2. If the latter, it does not appear that BarTVSports is viewable other than on mobile devices or PC and streamed to your TV. Correct ?

3. Do the BarTVSports NSWRL games have commentary and graphics or is it just a raw live feed?

Just join on BarTv, think most people join via IPad and airplay on their tv . There is commentary and score updates, at half time they replay the tries.

You may have to listen to the local commentators, such as the Newie guys on Saturday , but games are available to rewatch .

This is a far more reliable gauge than just watching them play against other u19s. I thought Petrus was our best yesterday but in this grade the standouts can be deceiving. They can have weaknesses you don't see unless you are focusing on them for most of the game (i.e. off the ball).

Agreed Summer was good too. Fletcher was a class above and I barely noticed Funa-Iuta.

I sent questions into BarTV and they came back to me in an hour or so with all questions answered.

3 I can answer. All of our games on the weekend had commentary and graphics whereas watching manly vs warriors SG Ball today they only had graphics.

I don't know but I would guess not.

This is what I've done.

I'd say so.

On Saturday at least they had commentary and a bit of a halftime package with no sound.

I was surprised by how well Fletcher played. Although he was behind a pack that well and truly dominated their opposition. The forwards despite being smaller than their opposition and half of them being 18 they smashed them with and without the ball. Stellar attitude and well drilled around the ruck.
