Parramatta Eels Management LOOK here

What do you all know about Toufiq Nicolas, Ahmad El Masri and Samir El Masri? They were members of this years Mediterranean Cup winning lebanese side. I reallly think Parramatta should look into signing one or more of these players.

I think (but may be wrong) all 3 have played in the Jim Beem Cup, so may be looking for NRL clubs to get them into the top grade. One of them may already of been contracted by the roosters, i'm not sure.

Why should we sign them? I will tell you.
The article http://www.lebrl.com/med-cup/2004/match6.html reports that Ahmed El Masri scored a hatrick of try's in the final of the Mediterranean cup while Samir El Masri, "lived up to the El Masri name" by kicking 7/7 goals. Also scoring a try was Toufic Nicolas.

In an earlier match of the Mediterranean cup, http://www.lebrl.com/med-cup/2004/match4.html, reports that Toufic Nicolas scored a double and with S. Elmasri unavailable kicked 6/9 goals. Ahmed El Masri also scored a try.

These players, if not already signed by other clubs, could play a vital part in Eels victories. If you can see footage of their performances you will see what i am talking about. I have seen not only them play, but other stars in the making from the lebanese side. If anyone can get in touch with the eels, tell them to watch a game involving those players, so they can see for themselves the talent these players have.

Are you their manager?

There's a slight ( ) difference between Jim Beam Cup/Mediterranean Cup and the NRL....scoring points in a couple of whollopings doesn't make you a first grade NRL player.

I don't know if these guys have talent or not, but there's an enormous step up to being an NRL player.

Ive seen them play, and they have great talent. Don't criticise before you have seen them in action.

I believe they do have what it takes.

Ever heard of Tahu and Grothe?

I'm guessin that those blokes are wingers - why would they get a spot ahead of two of the best?

it's called depth,

something I believe we're lacking in that department. if they're good enough I would imagine they can trial with the part time squad and see how they go.

Don't patronise me.

We don't need depth - Davis, Nicholas, Backo, that Penno guy.

Two are centres and the other two can slot into centre at will.

And Lord knows we have wingers here.

first of all I'm not being patronising.

secondly have you seen the blokes that "Physics" talking about play????..if not why comment on the fact that we don't need them.

and the players you mentioned probably come under the same catogary as the blokes "Physics" mentioned their all "untried" and not tested yet. except for the fact we've already signed them.

thirdly, why not trial them for the part time squad? I believe there were atleast 20 to 30 blokes who trialed last off season when they played trials at Brookvale and Cabramatta , i went to both.

and last but not least, the Penno guy that your talking about is a second rower/front rower by the name of Peter Lewis.

That's the guy - Lewis.

Iafeta has already mentioned he's played centre before.

yes about 3 vor 4 years ago. apparently he's a great player but he's weight and fitness lets him down

again this is all second hand info we get from other people it's nice to speculate but I would rather see these blokes for my self.

but I do trust Iaefeta's judgement on the kid! but it doesn't mean his gonna be right about him.

Mind you I hope to God, Buddha, Krishna or Ala that's he's right on this one.

i'm assuming these blokes are in there early twenties if they have been playing jim beam cup...and if they haven't been identified yet then i don't think they ever will. i know that some players develop later in life, or slip through the net but these boys are few and far between.

remember scott ella .... he has scored a motza of tries in the last 2 seasons of jim beam cup and i haven't heard of anyone clammering to sign him up.

i've seen them all play quite a few times and I will say that they are all gifted/talented footballers and could possibly add to the depth.

However, in saying that, I'm not sure that any of them would be able to step up into First Grade or even Prems with comfort.

The gap between Jim Beam, the Med Cup games in comparison to Prems or First Grade is about the same would be the same as trying to ride a 750cc suzuki and jump from South Head to North Head in Sydney Harbour.

The guys are talented, and would probably be worth a go (not only at Parra) but at any club. Just like any player, it is always worthwhile having a look. In saying that, if parra gave every talented player a go, they'd need 200000 scouts, development officers etc to do so. Let them trial just like most of the other Premier League players and if they cut the mustard, then they get a go.

You have to remember that most Premier League players are only part timers who have been scouted.

If they are worth it, a scout will see it!!

If Ahmad and Safir were any good, wouldn't Hazem's influence be enough to score them contracts at the Bulldogs?
