I don't think sacking those guys augurs well for the appeal.

Sacking DA and Boulous might be all very well but had they finished dealing with the club's salary cap response? Seems to be a decision that was made very quickly by a person who wasn't appointed to fix the club financially.

Appeal wasn't related to the de-registration of the 5. It was to do with penalty, eg fine/loss of points difference

I'd say we will be given an ultimatum by the Manager - he doesn't want to play here but he will do all the correct things to keep his job and you can continue to pay him $1.2 million next year and he will take up the 2 year option beyond that in his favour or you can give him a little bit of coin (probably the remainder of this season as payment) and he will disappear.

On the paying other people not at work he was probably referring to the two suspended employees.

2 issues here

Firstly he has done nothing to keep his job imo, he walked out on us due to his own personal issues but the fact remains he walked out, or thats whats being reported so he is in no position to say he has done all the correct things to keep his job.

Secondly I have not seen anything stating he does not want to play with us, only that he wants a break from RL.

I think having them in the appeals process would probably hurt any appeal we would make.

Given Foran and Semis injuries and Normans situation, imagine if the salary cap thing had never happened? We would all be bloody shattered that our chance of a GF was disappearing under injuries and suspensions.

Prolly because you can't do leave without pay under an NRL contract / salary cap arrangements.

BA said said a few times he just wants a break. Never used language other than that.

i took it as he didn't want to be told what to do and where to be while recovering from his injury. Purely speculation mind you. While he is still contracted to us he has to follow club protocols, that may have been interrupting his gambling and drinking schedule. Maybe he would be happy to come back and earn his huge contract after his enjoyed himself for a while. Or he hates playing for the eels and wants a release to sign with someone else.

Maxy was quite impressive. Hughes kept trying to interrupt but Maxy just kept talking. Im a real fan of Papworth. He asks the right questions. Maxy is focused. His charter is to make himself redundant. A nice change from others who refused to leave.

Why did he appoint people to the board if he already had all the powers of the board? So maybe he didn't have all the powers of the board... So did he have the power to appoint anyone of his choosing?
