Sounds like Anderson was he leaker to me. What agenda would a board member have leaking info about a possible new coach? I could see the old coach leaking it to shore himself up.

What agenda could a board member have in making a WRONG allegation of racism by a leaving player -who wantes to come back btw - against a coach? Especially as the allegation - telling his now FORMER coach to resign of he'd make racism allegations - make no sense whatsoever? What the hell would a Warriors player care who coached Parra?

Are you damn sure the leaks aint coming from Ando?????

What about the rest of the leaks during the year? They were in relation to stuff the head coach would have absolutely no idea about and could have only come from senior level. But go ahead, pick and choose what you want to believe to suit your agenda.

Terry, obviously is the mouthpiece of 3P, and is privy to the first hand information from the Parramatta Board that (it seems) only he - and Josh Massoud - are entitled to.

Reminds me of the old song - 'The owner told Clarence the Clocker, the Clocker told Jockey McGee, the jockey of course passed it on to the horse, and the horse told me'

BUT judging by the comments Terry made to Bazal, Terry and the 3P boys have had a falling out with Col Green (aka Parra Future), who was a spokesperson for the 3Ps before the last election. Col saw the light moved away from any association with them..I'll bet Col is now thinking "Phew"....
sevens knows exactly where the leaks are coming from as he is not a member of the board, so it is whoever is giving him the inside info

This is the way a fan should feel. Well done

None. That's why we needed a new board.

Ando came 12th with last years GF halves. They were good enough last year - what happened this year?

You deluded f*ckwit. Tell me how failure is a wonderful thing! Tell me about the crap revenue from crap crowds, the gun juniors going elsewhere, the top recruits never happening, the selection f*ck ups - like Smith never promoting Hayne.

And if you can't see the difference between 2 minor premierships and 8th and 12th, you are f*cking blind.
No one would support Parra if they were winners?
Ando got more than 3 games tard. But lets stick with him for a decade like we did with f*cking Brian Smith, waiting for Jupiter to be in Aquarius before they became a strong club who won premierships. Nope, better to employ a nice man as coach and throw $300k to him, than actually ask for a return.

Yep - the Fitzgerald years when winning comps was a distant second to greasing the CEO's knob. You'd love them back - maybe you should follow Souths.

Top 4 or very close - as our roster suggests. Not f*cking out of contention by early June.

The rest of the league was laughing their asses off each time we took the field this year. They were laughing when we got owned by f*cking Cronulla - twice. And when they finally found a shred of game plan and unleashed Hayne and his plane, and then bombed again, they were laughing still. Poor old Hayne copped it more than any other player this year -even the rorters down south.

Are they laughing because we punted an underachieving coach? No. They are sh*tting themselves that finally we might regain the strength we lost when Big Jack stopped controlling the front office, and Fitzy and his apologists took the reigns.

F*ck off to Souths then

So who are you going to back? Some touchy-feely clown who promises never ever to sack anyone regardless of how crap they are? Or someone wanting to get the best out of a multi million dollar business?

Which is illegal - and you'd love the club to be embroiled in a legal battle and destabilise the club.

No, this decision is all about getting rid of underachievers. Ando is a good coach - one of the top 20 in Australia. Its normal for contractors to have performance based contracts. It's also normal to fix things that are broken.

Halves were good enough last year? So Anderson made the halves play bad? How about just admitting the players weren't good enough as well you idiot.

How did I say failure was good? You were criticising Anderson because without winning those games we would have came 10th! Well we did win those games! 2009 was a success! We made the Grand Final, Dragons didn't!
Haha, you're a winner? HAHAHAHAHA.

The whole team underacieved this year, so we punt the bloke who has achieved more than any of them!

And 3p will deliver the premiership? How geniused are you? Let's all follow the board, go the 3p Eels!

Huh? If not, so what?

Yeah, who cares if our captain of the last ten years can't announce his retirement how he wants to.
If you didn't notice, news of Cayless' retirement was leaked.

Sacking Parramatta coach Daniel Anderson will have consequences

* Brent Read

MELBOURNE officials cleared the way for Stephen Kearney to join Parramatta yesterday as frustrated fans of the Eels took to the internet to vent their fury at the treatment of sacked coach Daniel Anderson.

Parramatta supporters dominated chat rooms and websites to voice their displeasure at the decision to terminate Anderson's contract with one year left to run. A large majority took aim at chairman Roy Spagnolo and his board.

Spagnolo swept to power 18 months ago with a promise to deliver success to a club which had craved it since the last of its four titles in 1986. Instead, he was under fire yesterday for the decision to remove the coach less than a year after Anderson took the club to the grand final.

Had the Eels not faced Melbourne, which fielded a side way over the salary cap, Anderson would in all likelihood have guided the club to a premiership. Not that those credentials mattered to the current board as they made the decision to end Anderson's tenure a year ahead of schedule, leaving supporters and players in a state of shock.

The backlash was so severe that some supporters are already eyeing next year's board elections -- to be held in April -- to remove the current directors.

If the elections were held tomorrow, Spagnolo and his board would be gone. Fortunately for them, they have seven months to save their positions and restore order to a club in disarray.

"You can't help but feel a little (bit responsible)," Eels five-eighth Daniel Mortimer said.

"We definitely didn't play our best this year. Maybe if we played better for Ando he would still be around.

"Unfortunately we don't really have any input on the decision. I hope to see him around. I am sure all his relationships with the players are strong. Unfortunately it's not up to the players.

"He has been a major player in my development so far. I have a lot to thank him for. That's why I would have liked to see him have another year."

Mortimer also called on officials to end the damaging leaks which emanated from the club this season. The situation became so dire that at one point senior players spoke to management in an attempt to plug the leaks.

"It does get a little bit disappointing when you pick up a newspaper or hear news and see that happen," Mortimer said of the leaks.

"You think, why wasn't I told about this. Unfortunately there is a leak at our club. It's not the best feeling to have around the club when anything you say can be leaked."

Kearney, who is also coach of New Zealand, is expected to be named as Anderson's replacement within days.

Storm chief executive Ron Gauci said he had spoken to Kearney about the Parramatta job but was yet to be contacted by the Eels.

He confirmed the Storm would not stand in Kearney's way should he want to join Parramatta. The worry for Kearney and any other coach is that the board has set the bar high with its decision to sack Anderson, who has guided teams to two NRL grand finals and enjoyed much success in England.

Clearly, anything less than a finals berth is a ground for sacking.

"If the circumstances are right, and Stephen approached us to head in that direction as something he really wanted to do, he has been a good servant to the club," Gauci said.

"I'm sure it's something we can resolve if it was something Stephen wanted to do."

A surprise in the inbox but sacking was no real shock for Anderson

Brad Walter and Stathi Paxinos
September 28, 2010

PARRAMATTA coach Daniel Anderson learnt of his sacking by email but he was not shocked by the decision at Sunday night's emergency board meeting as plans are understood to have been in place for Stephen Kearney to replace him for more than a month.

Kearney is expected to be officially appointed to the job as soon as tonight, but sources close to Anderson believe an agreement was reached with the Storm assistant coach to take over the reins next season after Eels chief executive Paul Osborne travelled to Melbourne to meet him in early August.

Osborne and Parramatta chairman Roy Spagnolo also met Wallabies playmaker Quade Cooper about the same time, without Anderson. The Herald has been told that Anderson did not believe Cooper was the answer to the Eels' halfback problems but they proceeded to offer him a $3.2 million four-year deal to switch codes.

Anderson was also not involved in the recruitment of dual international Timana Tahu this season or the decision to re-sign Eric Grothe on a two-year contract.

He is also understood to have wanted to recruit Anthony Watts but the North Queensland utility has signed with the Sydney Roosters instead.

After realising that Melbourne halfback Cooper Cronk was not going to accept a massive offer to leave the Storm, Anderson wanted to sign an experienced playmaker such as Trent Barrett or Brett Kimmorley to mentor Daniel Mortimer but both retired. With Mortimer and Kris Keating as his halves, Matthew Keating at hooker and Jarryd Hayne as fullback, Anderson had young players in the key positions but he paid the price for overachieving the year before when the club made the grand final in his first season as coach.

The Eels finished 12th this year, the first full season that Anderson has coached at the top level since beginning his NRL career with the Warriors in 2001 that he has not featured in the finals.

Osborne confirmed Kearney was the top target. ''We're just looking at the different candidates available and seeing who best can meet the needs of the club,'' Osborne said.

''He [Kearney] is obviously coming from a very well structured organisation and has been an assistant coach under Craig Bellamy for a long time and worked very closely with Wayne Bennett so he's had some very good training. I'm sure if he gets the job he would do a terrific job.''

Storm chief executive Ron Gauci said he had not recently spoken with Kearney, who is coordinating New Zealand's tilt at next month's Four Nations tournament, about his future but the club would be willing to release him from his contract ''given he has been such a long serving loyal person at the club''.

''I can't see that we would stand in his way if the circumstances were right but we haven't been asked to do that,'' Gauci said.

''You would love to hold on to someone who has the potential to be a successful senior coach as Steve Kearney but we obviously need to be considerate of his own requirements.''

Our club has issues. It was clear DA had no say in the signing of Tahu.. that was all Ossie's doing. The coach should be in charge of recruitment first and foremost. Once the board and CEO overrule the coach, what chance do you have????

If that is accurate then it is beyond pathetic, no excuse for that at all.

I was more upset when I heard the news that we had signed Carl Webb.

What's done is done.

Time to move forward.

Hopefully this will be for the betterment of our club.

You'd think the contract being terminated would be handled in a manner better than a simple e-mail. It goes to show exactly how 'professional' our board is.
I'd have thought at least a formal meeting with DA in person to inform him of his sacking would be the most acceptable option.

DA is overseas on holidays apparently... but that's no excuse. Any season review and decision making should not occur without the head coach at least being able to put his case forward especially if he has a current contract.

Yearning for the Fitzgerald days where failing to make the finals is acceptable. I was saying that last year Parra just scraped into the semis, you carry on as if we were undefeated!

But had a crap 2010. No game plans don't concern you?

Hiow many premierships has 3P delivered as players - compared to the dirge that Fitzgerald has dished up for 20 years?

Another article says that Ozzy phoned him. Which one is right?

As for the leaks - ok, granted some were sus. Anderson apparently was the last source of a leak - yesterday to Hadley. I want to know how come Mateo got roped in with a horrible allegation IN THE FIRST STORY of Ando's leaked news?

Pretty sure Fitzy was CEO during those premierships...

I cant think of any court case of DF vs Parra that would or should cause the sacking of Ando. What would he have to do with that court case?
