OK, well I haven't really weighed in yet apart from creating the totally kick arse poll in the other thread, so here goes...
What we seem to know at present regarding DA is that he had no plans for the future and a significant section of the player base did not have faith in him and did not believe that he was a workable coach for the future. This is what has come out through the media.
However, if I've read this thread correctly, Sanga is now saying that there will be more to come out regarding DA in late-October and this will explain much.
The problem here is that is the media stuff is correct then it justifies a payout of the contract. If there is more than what we have heard then surely there would be grounds for a flat out termination?
In my ridiculously handsome view this does not seem to stack up.

Also, this has turned into somewhat of a 3P thread so I might as well be open and honest regarding my opinion on this subject.
It has been said in this thread that 3P = Labor. Well, to be honest, I have had this feeling at certain times myself and expressed it to my fellow fans and forumites over a few coldies at Parra Leagues.
The leaks to the media have been totally unprofessional. Views have been expressed that, to put it in a somewhat blunt fashion, the new regime whored itself out to The Daily Telegraph during the election in order to get the coverage it needed to win and now the two entities are intertwined to our detriment. I must say that my own experiences with people within the Club have given me this same impression. I'm gonna pull the old Julia Gillard line and say that I won't be discussing any private interactions on this forum but relaxed conversations I have had included casual and comfortable references to ringing up The Tele and providing them with information. This did not sit well with me.
Additionally, there is at least an impression that there is an anti-Fitzgerald movement that is still going on. Now, whilst some may think they have a valid point regarding clearing out old, dead wood I personally think it is not smart to be removing people who could possibly still offer us the best available services simply because they were part of Fitzy's old brigade.
Now, to once again be perfectly honest, a lot of the way I see things are based purely on my personal interpretation of events that I don't always have a first hand knowledge of. I could very well be interpreting them incorrectly. Whilst I personally believe that contracts should always be seen through and that therefore DA should have remained as our coach in 2011, I am nevertheless willing to generally withhold any concrete decision until the information is released in late-October.
As a parting comment, I would like to take the opportunity to seriously abuse those in 3P/the new regime, regarding recruitment. It's f**king obvious that we need a f**king halfback. We're chasing every Tom, Dick and Harry that's ever come anywhere near a 7 jersey. All except one - I haven't heard a damned f**king thing about enquiries made to lure Stu Galbraith out of retirement. You f**king useless cocksmokers - get your act together and fill that void with the man himself - Stu GODbraith!
