I don’t think that the Swans have played there for a few years.

BBL will need to find a new permanent home.

There you go, So what you're saying is there isn't a hell of lot going on there in winter should these clubs find other homes.

Thunder now play at spotless stadium because they realised what soulless hole ANZ was when they were getting 12k in a 80k stadium

I think ANZ will become a major events stadium, unless teams like Souths etc move back there in 2021/2.

Then again a rectangular 70,000 seat (roofed ?) stadium will be very attractive to Ed Sheeran / Taylor Swift type artists.

Another one bites the dust. Oval use of ANZ is dead then.

Yep, the Thunder moved to Spotless last season. It provided a much better sporting experience. Cricket has abandoned the place, so have the Swans.
The only people against the rectangular-isation of ANZ now are the AFL, in the faint hope that the Swans might play GWS in a semi final at some stage. Maybe a 1 in 10 year event? The AFL and Tony Shephard can get f**ked.

So Souths, Eels, Tigers, Bulldogs, Panthers, Wanderers and Waratahs are all expressing an interest in using the stadium.

There was one merkin, who’s name escapes me, claimed that the business case was a fraud and that it will only have two tenants spanning 12 months.

And that guy is the most annoying f**ker in the world.
He has completely turned me off voting for his party in the next election.

The current govt is getting shit done.
His party did f**k all for more than a decade.

Case closed imo.

Ahhhh shit. They forgot to get the bloody cranes out ... those things are gonna get in the way

Amazing. Its practically enclosed ... give it another month or so

Not a bad point actually. How will they get the cranes out? Using bigger cranes?

I wonder when designing, if they considered the corporate area on the opposite side? Given it will have a pretty impressive facade, it will hardly be seen. Why not have that facade face O'Connell st.

Suity might be able to give me a perfectly good reason.

Cos the eastern side (oconnell st) where all us peasants will sit is the shit side that will have the sun in your face ... western side where they built it is the good side

Yep. Strider is right. Rarely would corporates be situated looking into the sun. Well, particularly this type of stadium.
The other reason is not to forget that this stadium is being built on the cheap. They were always going to "class up" the corporate side and entry. This meant that other parts of the stadium suffered cost cutting.

I'm really looking forward to the finished product though. It still looks impressive (though a bit cheap) as you drive towards it from Victoria rd.
Wait until the LED banners are installed on the north east entry façade and all the landscaping etc is done. It's still going to be a super place to watch sport, and the best part will actually be being on the inside, not looking at the outside.

I think the other consideration is the really rich toffs and teams will need to park near the side with the facilities and the parking is either north or west - north is not an option, so west it is
