Parramatta Stadium Rebuild and other stuff

The reason I was told that the corporates were positioned that way is an American model to have the serving kitchens on one side only, a cost saving and efficient.

Apparently the club was not aware that was the plan until the final design was presented and signed off, the teams playing there prefer the older design with corporates at the top of each side, but as Suity has always said, cost was the major factor.

I think the other consideration is the really rich toffs and teams will need to park near the side with the facilities and the parking is either north or west - north is not an option, so west it is
I've got the sweetest park close to the stadium whenever I go there. It's always empty and I've never been accosted by anyone for parking there. Don't ask lol.

I don't have any inside info to the design requirements, but I'm a stadium nerd and it's quite obvious that this was the state govt's final design wish list.
It must be remembered that there were discussion forums held with both Eels and Wanderers fans, before the brief went out to the tenderers to come up with the wish list of stadium requirements of both sets of fans. I think that this list would have been different from both sets of fans, hence why there has been a stadium designed like it has been.
It's a great compromise I reckon.

- Steep stands.
- Roof coverage as extensive as possible.
- Safe standing for Wanderers converted to seating for Eels games.
- Plenty of corporate space - Eels probably benefit more due to the larger RL exposure.

The only thing that I don't think was agreed to from the govt was that the majority of both Wanderers and Eels wanted a larger than 30 000 capacity.
Both were calling for 35 000.
In the end, the 30000 capacity may end up better for both clubs.

I think the looking into the sun argument is ridiculous these days. Far more games are at night now and the low roof should help too.

Anyway I am one the peasants so less distance to walk for me.

Definitely, the low extensive roof will mean there will be minimal sun into the fans eyeline in day games. You'd have to say there would be maybe only 1 or two day games anyway

Ahhhh shit. They forgot to get the bloody cranes out ... those things are gonna get in the way

Amazing. Its practically enclosed ... give it another month or so
Not a bad point actually. How will they get the cranes out? Using bigger cranes?

The three remaining cranes are mobile crawler cranes. The boom and jib (the yellow sections in the picture below) are lowered to the ground and unbolted in sections and placed on the back of a truck for removal.
There's no fear that any of our players will have to side step them next season.

Where is the truck gonna go? ... there looks to be a small tunnel bottom right of piccy. Is that big enough?
