Titans home ground has a capacity of 27,400 - and the Gold Coast has been a weird sporting market.
Storm home ground has a capacity of 29,500 - and there's not much demand for rectangular-field sports down there.
Broncos home ground has 52,500 capacity, and is the premier footy stadium in their city. I'd imagine this was more the prototype size for what the Baird plan originally saw as the SFS/Moore Park redeveloped ground?
The Western Sydney/Parramatta re-build would more likely have seen as one of the new 30,000-style sized grounds... but given the lack of any stakeholder interest in rebuilding/expanding SFS to 50-60,000 seat capacity, surely there is now a case to use some of that money and futureproof the size of our rebuild to at least 35,000 seats?
The Eels or Wanderers don't have to fill it every game, but at least build it so it can handle a bigger crowd now and then, without the only other option of moving a big game to Homebush.
