Yep, people just have to retrain or evolve. There's plenty of new jobs when new fields emerge. It's a good thing. Automation means Labour costs are less. The less Labour costs the more chance manufacturers companies may return or stay around.
I find it bizarre people talk about people losing jobs. Technology has given millions of jobs. They forget about the people it gives jobs. Like myself, engineers, etc.
Kind of similar to clean energy versus fossil fuels. Plenty of new jobs (and money to be made by companies), and can't see why Gina, Clive and Dutton are so against it.
Buying time for them to evolve their profit machines perhaps? Similar to the RBTU buying time with the deal they sought for their drivers, the younger of whom will eventually have to retrain and find new jobs.
